As some of you know for the past month I’ve been on a quest to get back to healthy living. Which means working out regularly and eating clean with the help of Kristin my health coach and owner of IronPlate Studios.
Here is my recap of the week! I got some really great workouts at Krank and at IronPlate Studios. Kristin was away so she had me workout with Chris, a new personal trainer that moved here from Dublin…Well as soon as he saw that I was in decent shape he put me through the ringer. By the end of the workout I told him that I hated him. I haven’t said that to a trainer in years. I am still sore!!
This “health” journey is really f-g hard. You take two steps forward then one step back… I basically decided to do this challenge in the worst possible time in my life. My whole family was here visiting from Israel for the last two weeks, which meant a lot of eating out… I am also dealing with some work and life stress. Nothing abnormal really but when I am stressed, I eat. A lot. I am an emotional eater. I have no issues getting to the gym at 6am and working out regularly but I have an issue with staying away from the fridge. The difference is, now I am more forgiving with myself when I do “over eat” as opposed to hating myself for it. I digress. This week I am getting back on track.
I think part of the eating issue is that I am never prepared. In order to eat clean and healthy you have to somewhat plan it out, or else you go for what’s easy. Junk! Kristin from IronPlate studios sent me a helpful tip on how to prep food! Let’s do this!
Being prepared is key. And learning how to plan ahead makes all the difference on the road to success with clean eating and your road to health. But where do you start? While daunting at the start, learning how to food prep is a lifelong skill, that once mastered, can never be unlearned and will set you up with successful behaviors for meal planning and a better relationship with food altogether.
