Everywhere I turn, I see cute furry friends walking around me, it’s almost like I am an outsider for not having a pet! That is why I have Erin Rafferty as my pet contributor; she knows what’s up in the JC pet community.

Now I love animals and I have been thinking of adopting a dog or a cat for my Mini-Chicpea, but I am barely ever home and would feel bad leaving them alone in the house for too long. In comes a dog walking service! There are some great dog walker companies in Jersey City but when I heard about “Anything’s Pawsible” I had to find out more. Whoever coined the name is a marketing genius.

I met entrepreneur Pedro and his team of dog walkers by the new Modera lofts with a group of rambunctious dogs. It is apparent that they really love pets and pride themselves on providing peace of mind to pet owners. They even have GPS trackers! I wonder if that’s possible for toddlers? Hmm.

What’s your name? Pedro Mojica.

What do you do? We do pet care, dog walking, cat care, exotic pet care, and dog boarding for the Jersey City and Bayonne area. Our name is Anything’s Pawsible.

How did it start? Me and my cousin were tired of working for corporate America and wanted to do something for the city that we were passionate about. We grew up with five dogs as kids, so it came natural to us to work with animals.

When did it start? On June 1st of 2013.

And you service all of Jersey City? Yeah, all of Jersey City and Bayonne and a majority of our clients are in the Downtown, Jersey City area by the waterfront. We have forty-five clients in total.

How many pets do you have? I have two cats. I work a lot; I’m a branch manager at a bank by day, and I do this by night, so cats are more independent.

What are your future plans? We are looking to expand in Downtown and work with more concierge services and become the pet care provider of choice in the Downtown, Jersey City area.

So you guys work with this building specifically? We work with this building which is 350 Warren Street; we work with 77 Hudson Street, 33 Hudson Street, and 2 Crystal Point.

What are your prices like? When our walkers go into an apartment, prices are very reasonable. It’s $15 for an individual walk, and it’s 20-25 minutes. We also offer what we call, “Digital Dog Walking,” where we strap a GoPro to the dogs. The pet owners can see how the walks go from the pet’s perspective, and that’s an extra $3 per walk or $15 per week if you do a five-day per week schedule.

Are they taking pictures for the pet owners now? When they (pet and pet walker) go into the apartment, they scan in with a barcode and the owner gets the notification sent to their phone through an app. Also, all walks are GPS tracked, so wherever they walk you’ll it see on a map and the pictures they’re taking get sent to their owners’ phone.

Are you from Jersey City? Yeah, I was born and raised in Jersey City.

How do you feel Jersey City has changed? It’s so much better. I feel like it is a lot safer since fifteen, twenty years ago. Downtown has become a more affluent area; it’s just an overall better vibe. Downtown, Jersey City is an attraction now, and now people go there to spend some time with their family and friends.

Do you have a favorite Jersey City hangout spot? By the waterfront. Back when I was dating that’s where I would take all my dates. It’s just a beautiful scene.
