My next Stylish Peep is a young man named Sebastian. I met him the exact same day I was going to shoot & interview him. It was kinda like a surprise for the both of us, haha! Sebastian is extremely ambitious and committed to his craft, check him out below.
What’s your name & how old are you?
My name is Sebastian and I’m 23 years old.
What are you wearing?
Me, I guess. Just me. Like, my style is really what I want to wear. I try to inspire people because I see people are afraid to wear certain things because of this new generation. I transition my style in all ways; if I feel like wearing an 80s style, I will. I do a lot of thrifting as well, but I also like to wear designer gear like a Louis belt, G-star, I’ll wear it. Money doesn’t matter when it comes to fashion, it’s about how you wear it.
Who/what inspires your style?
Damn, that’s hard. It’s a lot of people, I just can’t figure it out. I pick and I absorb it in my brain. When I wake up, it’s also based off of how I feel. If I feel like Kanye that day, then I’ll dress like Kanye. But mostly, Kanye inspires me on the way he transitioned to wearing Air Forces and varsity jackets, to going into design and being inspired by Ralph Lauren.
How long have you lived in Jersey City?
All my life. Born and raised in Jersey City. I moved around a lot, I went to school in Downtown, and lived Uptown and by the Hill. I went to Ferris High School and got kicked out, and then went to Dickinson High School.
And your favorite Jersey City spot?
There’s a lot of places I like. I just can’t depict it because it’s a lifestyle. Everyday is a new day to me. I just started watching what I eat, so it’s harder to find places. I liked the Chicken Spot, but I don’t go there anymore. There is a vegan spot called Subia’s downtown. That’s a really good place.
What is one piece of advice that you’d give to your younger self?
Well, I’ve been through a lot. I learn everyday and my past self is way different from now. My motivation and inspiration, the way I talk and carry myself, it’s different and I had to learn. I met a few people that were older than me and I became more mature and business savvy, and wanted to treat people better. I’m finally learning who I am, I’ve taken the time to tell myself the things I want to do, I’m going to do. I’m out in the city a lot, it’s a mental thing. I wish people would absorb it the way that I do. . Everybody in this city isn’t motivated and think they are not capable of doing the shit that I do. I went to California and met Roger Williams, and then the lifestyle is insane. Then I came back and people were like, “Yo I need $20.” It makes me sick. It’s like shit, I came back to a house where I was helping my friend and I was paying the rent of the brownstone by myself. It’s crazy how they treat themselves nowadays, and you want to help but you can’t. Right now at 23, I should have been in a higher position than I’m in now, but I took the time to help others.
Any social media links you’d like to give?
My Instagram name is @bitches4sale. I do respect women, I was raised right by my grandmother. She was like my mom to me, but it goes back to my “@” name. I don’t like how women treat themselves, so I say “I got bitches for sale” but I respect women.
Also if you go to Apex Rich on Soundcloud, that’s my boy, he has a good following.
