Sasha is the last (but not least), of the Balance Salon “Stylish Peep” edition and she is a total babe! She seems a little quiet and reserved in comparison to the rest of the Balance crew but definitely has her own rock n roll style going on. I know many Jersey City “stylish peeps” that have been getting their hair done by her for many years! Sasha is not only a talented hair stylist, she is also a clothing designer, artist and photographer. Girl crush alert!

What do you do? I’m a hairstylist here at Balance, and I also do makeup and I designed these shirts..

Tell me about your shirts….Theres just a bunch of pop art designs I had lying around so I decided to do something with them.

Whats your brand name? Terrestre.

How long have you been working for balance? Almost 8 years.

How did that start? One of my friends was a curator for Carla and I was really unhappy at the last place I was working. I came over and she was like “yeah it’s really fun there you should check it out”. Carla wasn’t hiring anybody at the time but she said “just email me and in 3 months I’ll let you know whats going on” and then all of a sudden I get a MySpace message from her saying that one of her stylists left and to come in!

What made you want to stay for so long? There’s something going on all the time, you’re surrounded by art and work with other artists…

Do you have a favorite Jersey City hangout spot? Third and Vine.

You guys love Third and Vine, do you all go there after work and hang out? Yeah usually. I took a little break, because I was going out too often but now I’m back at it again!

Do you have any future plans with your brand? I want to get into dresses.
