Makeup artist Stephanie Perez shares an election-inspired fashion shoot with ChicpeaJC.

With today’s election coming to a close, we were inspired by the next historic women’s movement. After years of women’s suffrage and fighting for a woman’s right to vote, we have come a long way.

Women today have become expressive and show it through fashion as a form of self-identity. The wardrobe in this editorial was inspired by the 1970’s and Power Dressing, which is a more feminine version of a men’s suit.

Wardrobe Stylist Karen Perez worked closely with Hoboken’s Revival Vintage and pulled some tailored looks with some feminine touches. For hair and makeup, created by Stephanie Perez, she wanted to keep it clean and modern. Photographer Caio Ferreira wanted to capture the mood with lighting and wanted to make it dramatic and impactful. Our muse was violinist/model/actress Molly Fletcher.
