It’s that time of the month again. It’s time for our November babes of JC! As always, we know it’s a vain post. We know that there’s a hundred other things you could be doing with your time. But you can admit this is pretty fun, too. We gave our babes a few questions to answer and asked them to type a short bio about themselves. Meet Christine @Chrisdel_

If she’s not traveling around the world for work, you can find Christine with her dog at the gym or on a dance floor somewhere twerking. She’s smart, motivated, and one of the most fun people to be around. But the best thing about Christine is her weird, goofy sense of humor that you would never expect by looking at her.

1. Tell us your full name. 

Full name: Christine De La Rosa

2. What do you currently do for a living?

I’m a producer at VICE, specifically with sports.

3. What would be your dream job?

Currently doing it. If I could just bring my dog with me to work and when I travel, I’d be 100% set.

5. What is your favorite place to hang out or eat in Jersey City.

Favorite place to hang out would have to be Miss Wong’s because of the awesome music and vibe. Favorite place to eat is Taqueria, hands down. I’m there at least once a week and I have no shame admitting that.

4. How does it feel to be nominated as a Jc babe?

I mean, if someone calls you a babe of any kind, your day is instantly a little better so it feels pretty great! I’m honored and also humbled that I have such awesome friends who nominated me.

5. What are 3 random facts about yourself?

1. I’ve never had a hamburger. Of any kind. Ever. And no, I’m not a vegetarian.

2. I’m just getting over the most serious injury I’ve ever suffered. I now have a plate and a bunch of screws holding my knee together after my clumsy 75lb boxer broke my leg this past summer. Still love her though.

3. I’ve been doing Olympic Weightlifting for 5 years.

6. What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done or wanted to do?

We lost power, all our phones (which we used as flashlights) died, we were covered in mosquito bites and the list goes on. The room I was sharing with a colleague was called “Scorpion Corner” which sounds badass until you’re told to check your shoes before putting them on and to close your luggage any time you leave the room to avoid unwanted surprises. The last night, I went to lay down and spotted a scorpion on my bed literally inches away from my face. We started freaking out and searched the entire room for more. A total of 4 were IN OUR ROOM just crawling around (scorpions are a lot faster than you think).  It was at least 80 degrees, sticky and humid yet I was covered head to toe in layers of clothes to keep the bugs, scorpions, and whatever else from crawling on my skin.  It was pitch black and all we had were small flashlights which I held for dear life the entire night. I didn’t sleep a wink and I was never happier to see the sun come up the next morning.

Meet Laura! @Letterbylaura

Laura Miller has lived in Jersey City since 2005 and has a bulldog named Burger. She is well versed in self-deprecation, delivery.com, and BBC Crime series.

1. Tell us your full name. 

Laura Miller

2. What do you currently do for a living?

Well that depends…. How much time do you have?

For starters, I provide pretty penmanship and type-based signage for businesses, home decor, and events with my hobby-turned-how-I-earn-my-income lettering business, @letterbylaura. You may have seen some of my work at Hamilton Inn, South House, Gringo’s, Uncle Momos…to name a few. I also create, choreography, and instruct a local dance cardio program called HipFit Dance Fitness (@laurahipfit), taught out of Grassroots Community Space 4 times a week, JC Barre Studio twice a week, and coming soon to Hoboken! Lastly, I am a commercial voiceover actor that would appreciate your “thoughts and prayers” regarding my latest audition.

3. What is your dream job?

Getting paid to do whatever Brooke Burke was doing from 1997-2002 on E’s “Wild On!”

4.What is your favorite place to eat or hang out in Jersey city?

My friend Gab’s couch.

I’m kind of a homebody and old.  I love a friend filled dinner party or movie night. Otherwise, you can find me where the red wine is on sale or occasionally being the tallest person on the dance floor at Ms. Wongs.

5. How does it feel to be nominated as a Jc babe?

Like someone maybe made a mistake?

I’m proud of my city and the things I’ve accomplished while living in it, so I feel thankful for the support.

6.  What are 3 random facts about yourself?

I am cripplingly sensitive…to the point of crying at cotton commercials and burdening myself with saving EVERY drowning bug from the pool, even mean ones like wasps and fire ants. My friend’s daughter drowned a bee once and I still think about it.

I’ve pickled my insides with hot sauce to the point of immortality.

I was once gifted a hamster at a Secret Santa in 2013 and am now an adult woman who always has a hamster (with a Beyoncé themed name) R.I.P. Beyoncé, Shawn Carter, and Tina Knowles. Sharon (named after Bey’s character in the motion picture Obsessed) is still going strong!

7. What is the craziest thing you’ve done or wanted to do?

Kissing my salary and benefits goodbye in 2009 to pursue my freelance work full time was probably pretty crazy considering my personality (worry wort with a less-than-healthy fear of the unknown), but I’m only terrified, like, 70% of the time so THINGS ARE FINE!

Currently working at T-Mobile , Acting gigs, LYFT, Uber what ever it takes.

My dream job is to be an Actor which is what i am pursuing.

Fave place to eat would be Los Tres Chilitos Mexican restaurant in the heights.

Three facts

1. Addicted to fragrances & smelling good.

2. Tried out for the Chicago cubs.

3. Like to make people laugh.

7. What is the craziest thing you’ve done or wanted to do?

The craziest thing I want to do is to Sky dive.
