A few weeks ago I put a post up on my social media  asking “Who is my next Jersey City stylish peep?” and someone tagged Christian Bonez. Christian is a cross between Michael Jackson circa “Thriller” and Edward Scissorhands. He has a one of a kind style so naturally I wanted to feature him as my next “stylish peep”!

What’s your name? My name is Christian Bonez.

What do you do? I work at a school in Hoboken, I’m a custodian there.

What are you wearing? I’m wearing a Tripp jacket with a bunch of buckles. It looks like Michael Jackson Bad [Laughs] with Edward Scissorhands. I’m wearing these pants I made that has patches, metal bands. I don’t know I sewed it in myself…

Now if you sewed that in yourself, are you really into fashion? I guess so [Laughs]

Where did you get the hat? I bought it at Trash, and these are Rayban sunglasses.

Where do you live? I live in Jersey City born and raised.

What is your favorite Jersey City hangout spot?  I would have to say Lucky 7’s, it’s a pretty cool place, I’ve been there quite a few times.  That’s pretty much the only place I know, including Barcade.

How would you define your style? Kinda goth, punk, metal , vampire-like. [Laughs]

Do you listen to a lot of metal? Yeah

How do you feel Jersey City has changed in the past few years? Well you see people from Manhattan and Brooklyn are moving in. I know this because my mom and dad are into real estate and they own some properties.

How did you get the name “Bonez”? Because I’m skinny, and I look like a boney motherfucker, that’s how I got the name.
