Brook and I met through the wonderful world of Instagram. Brooke has a really unique style and she also is very involved in the fashion world, she is a designer and also has her own Vintage Etsy shop! For weeks we tried to coordinate our schedules to meet and ended up actually meeting in NYC in the garment district, by her job and by my old one! #weird. A few days after the interview Brook hooked me up with the cutest jacket, she has amazing vintage gear!

Whats your name? Brook

What are you wearing? A dress that I got at Buffalo Exchange, necklace from a thrift store, Dr. Martens, my ring is from Forever 21, bag is from H&M, my fan is from Japan, sunglasses I got in North Carolina at some random surf shop I think.

Who does your hair? Me. I got my hair bleached and then I dyed it blue myself.

What do you do for a living?I’m a clothing designer for a company, that you probably haven’t heard of, called KBL group.

You have a side business too? It’s a vintage store called Trash By Time on ETSY.

And what do you sell on there? Vintage clothing and accessories from the 60s/70s/80s/90s…

Where do you find your stuff? Goodwill, salvation army, random thrift stores, not in manhattan, mostly jersey city and Virginia. When I go home to visit my family.

How long have you been in Jersey City? 7 years now..

Oh wow! Do you have a favorite hang out spot? I really like LITM, but I’ve only been there a couple times.

Anywhere you like to eat? I like Pizza Master, on central avenue. Its really good pizza.

What’s a fun fact about you? That’s a hard one… I lived in Venice Beach for 5 years…

And the designs you do, where do you get your inspiration? We use a trend service called Fashion Snoop and we also look at store catalogues online, such as Urban Outfitters and Free People… we get lots of inspiration from what’s in stores now.
