It’s amazing how death and welcoming new life into your world can change everything! My father’s passing, strangely enough, gave me a second chance, new beginnings. If I don’t draw something positive from his passing, then it was all in vain and shame on me! The knowledge I gained trying to save my father from cancer was incredible and I know now that if we had known sooner and acted quicker, he may still be here today. Things changed when dad passed and when I fell pregnant, that was that, and it was time to change all my bad habits! Having my daughter at 40 was totally planned and when she arrived, I was complete. 🙏🏾 It kinda forced me to change career after 22 years, as my life was wild and free prior! But with that said, I’ve tapped into a place that was missing in my life.

5. What are 3 random facts about yourself?

I’ve been a singer songwriter my entire life!
I still try not to walk on the cracks on the sidewalk 🤷🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️😂
I love DIY and Fixing my car!

6. What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done or wanted to do?

A lot of crazy stuff in my record company/touring days 🤐 We’d need a few bottles of wine for that one!

It has the perfect balance of social and nature, you can go to Manhattan and then come back to civilisation 🙏🏾

Being able to share a piece of me with my mini me and watch her evolve, it’s beautiful.

My name is Krista Kenny and I am a mom living in JC Heights. My son, Francis Jr, is turning 3 this month and I am due with his little brother the day after Mother’s Day. My initial reaction was, “is this a joke?” and I immediately reached out to Lynn to make sure someone wasn’t playing a prank on me!

4. How did becoming a mom change the way you feel about yourself? or contribute to your hotness?

I realized just how strong I really was, how strong all moms are. There is no turning ‘it’ off or taking breaks.

5. What are 3 random facts about yourself?

I don’t know how to ride a bike
I despise ketchup
I am a bread baker

6. What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done or wanted to do?

Not necessarily all that “crazy” but for the last 3 years, our family has been traveling to Europe. Traveling with a toddler is like an extreme sport but we wouldn’t have it any other way. The memories and photos will last a lifetime.

7. What do you love most about Jersey City?

Always something to do, somewhere to go, someone to see. Food, parks, shopping at the mom + pops and walking the neighborhoods.

8. What do you love most about being a mom?

Besides the hugs, kisses and hilarious one liners, getting to relive holidays and first times through my child is so much fun. Plus the entire new set of firsts we get to experience as parents has been a very special experience.

Self-care is not to be put on the back burner, ever. You can’t pour from an empty cup.

My name is Brittany Anderson and I am 29 years old. I grew up in Hudson County, attending St Dominic’s High School in Jersey City and then moving to California shortly after that. When I moved back to New Jersey, I began working at Mint Market in Hoboken and then Grove Street. I am currently living in Hoboken and a small business owner. I’m honestly honored lol Being that I am a new mom you tend to forget to do things for yourself such as your hair, makeup, etc so to be considered a “hot mom” makes me feel great!

4. How did becoming a mom change the way you feel about yourself? or contribute to your hotness?

Becoming a mom definitely made me realize that it is not all about me! It also helped me to light the fire about my career and turning my dreams into reality. I definitely do feel like my style has stayed the same. I’ve always been more of a tomboy so being a boy’s mom makes things a lot easier. I try to get dressed up at least once a week to feel good about myself but with a walking 16 month old sometimes, it’s hard.

5. What are 3 random facts about yourself?

I am obsessed with cheeseburgers. I have 5 brothers and sisters. And I love cats.

6. What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done or wanted to do?

Craziest thing I ever did was shave my head.

The diversity is my favorite about Jersey City. The different cultures and ethnicities all in one, you really cant beat the amazing food JC has to offer!

8. What do you love most about being a mom?

What I love most about being a mom is making my son happy. Seeing my son laugh and smile is literally the best feeling in the world.

9. Any tips/secrets you can share about being a hot mom?

Definitely have to remember to take care of yourself too. Don’t feel guilty if you need a night out to just get dolled up and go dancing with your girlfriends. It’s totally okay to go and get a 60-minute massage and most of all it’s totally ok to get that “you” time in.

Hi I’m Chelsea, I’m 28, I have two daughters and I’ve been married for 8 years. Two years ago, my husband and I decided to be adventurous and leave everything behind and move to Jersey City. We knew not a soul here but we’ve loved every minute of it and have made so many memories and new friends!

I have been a stay at home mom since 2013. This is the first year my kids have both been in full time school so now that I have more free time, I’d love to go to cosmetology school and one day have my own salon in my home so I can have the best of both worlds!

My favorite place to eat in JC is hands down Ani Ramen! If I’m hangin with the other JC hot moms for drinks, my favorite place is Hyatt Rooftop!

4. How did becoming a mom change the way you feel about yourself? or contribute to your hotness?

How I feel about myself has been a roller coaster of emotions through the years. You never know if you’re doing the “right things” when it comes to your kids, but I have learned to feel more confident in the decisions I make and more confident in my own skin, realizing that perfection isn’t realistic. Also, I like to throw the middle finger up to anyone who judges me. Before kids, I would take any judgment so harshly.

5. What are 3 random facts about yourself?

I’m addicted to hot Cheetos, I love rap and hip hop music and I’m born and raised in Arizona.

6. What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done or wanted to do?

The craziest thing I’ve ever done was pierce my tongue for my 18th birthday. It’s no longer pierced though.

I love seeing what I teach at home play out in their lives. For example, I love seeing them be kind to others at the park or problem solve in school using the tools I taught them at home!

Becoming a mom has made me feel like I can do anything. I don’t feel like anything is out of the realm of possibility especially not when it comes to my ability, and I think that stems from growing a human being, and pushing him out of my body. I mean talk about a super-power! Moms are amazing. I think for the better part of year one, I didn’t feel that motherhood contributed to my hotness, at all. The craziest thing I’ve ever done? I don’t know; that’s a tough one. Almost my entire 20s was filled with so much stupid that it all seems crazy now. I’ve always wanted to sky dive!

7. What do you love most about Jersey City?

I love the diversity here. I know that JC has been incredibly gentrified in the past decade, and that deserves acknowledgement for the OG residents who’ve watched JC change, grow and cost of living has increased because of it. I’m grateful because I love being able to walk around with my beautiful, mixed race family and we fit in. It’s a beautiful place and I love it here. We have much to celebrate & it seems like there’s always a celebration going on!

Right now, I love having a secret language with my kid. He’s chatty and talks a lot, but sometimes only I can understand him and I love that he knows that! It’s cool to see the world through a beginner’s eyes again. So much to marvel at!

1. What do you currently do for a living and what is your dream job?

I am currently a full time teacher and a makeup artist. Makeup has become a passion of mine since a young age, my dream job would be taking a leap of faith and putting my entire heart, soul and spirit into @facesbyZ_. While I do makeup only during the months of summer, it would be a dream to work for myself and grow my business.

Hmmm that’s a tricky one. My favorite small town bar for great drinks and amazinggg food would be Halftime bar & grill. During the summer, another one of my favorite hang outs is Porta downtown JC (in fact, I love everything downtown lol)

Becoming a mom made me feel as if I could do anything in this world. As women, our body is our temple, to be able to carry another life inside of me is hands down one of my greatest accomplishments. I had my son at a very young age (19 to be exact) I want young moms especially to know your life is not over. The birth of my son birthed a new me. I love my city.. we have soooo much talent here. I would say my favorite thing about JC now is the amount of entrepreneurs on the rise. So many of my childhood friends and associates are starting businesses, clothing lines, makeup brands etc..

Although being a mom has been one of the hardest jobs I’ve ever taken on, it is the most rewarding. To have someone who has heard my heartbeat from inside of my body tell me a million times a day that he loves me, or hugs me, runs to me when he’s picked up from school makes it all worth it. You never stop learning being a mom, you learn so much from your little one.. it’s hard picking one solid thing about being a mom… however, I will say I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Mia O’Malley

Hi, I’m Mia O’Malley, I’m 34 years old, married to my husband for 5 years and my son Ivan turned 1 on May 1st. We’ve been living in Jersey City since 2014. I’m @MiaOMalley on Instagram where I talk about my experiences as a plus size mom, advocate for fat acceptance and provide support for other plus size moms, and women who are ttc. 1. What do you currently do for a living and what is your dream job?

I’m a mom and a freelance social media consultant. My degree is in photography and I spent many years as a photo editor, which I always thought was my dream job! Given how drastically media (and how we consume it) has changed in the last 10 years, those dreams shifted. I began doing this as a side hustle while I was expecting my first child and it’s bloomed over time into a business of several clients. I love that I can utilize a variety of my skill sets, work creatively, and keep a flexible schedule. Having a child gave me the courage, motivation, and inspiration to start my own business and I’m so grateful to motherhood for that. I don’t think I would have done it otherwise and I’m so fulfilled right now.

2. What is your favorite place to hang out or eat in Jersey City?

There are so many to choose from!

I am thrilled! I take such pride in being a Jersey City mom – the community of moms here is unparalleled. Also as a plus size woman and mother, I know how critical it is to see people of size represented, especially pregnant women and moms. I’m honored that I can be representing the plus size community here on your page.

4. How did becoming a mom change the way you feel about yourself? or contribute to your hotness?

How much time do you have? To summarize it shortly, pregnancy brought me to a place of body acceptance and body love that I have not known in my entire life. For once, exercise and nutrition were not centered around the idea of weight loss! They were focused on making me feel good and caring for my body and baby. It was a type of liberation. The confidence that has grown from what my body has been able to do in the last year has been such a gift. That confidence contributes greatly to my hotness! On a purely superficial level, my curves are at max curviness now and I’m enjoying it!

5. What are 3 random facts about yourself?

I hate shopping.

I fall asleep watching the Office and have been doing that for 9 years, without exaggeration. When I’m traveling or sharing a room with the baby I listen to it on my phone. The result of which is, I am constantly quoting The Office.

I used to write Real Housewives of New York recaps for Radar Online.

6. What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done or wanted to do?

I’m a pretty impulsive person and I want to be happy in this life so when I’m not, I make big shifts that I imagine some people would call crazy.

I’ve quit long standing career-track jobs to change fields twice now in my life without another job lined up. Each time for the better.

I moved from a Williamsburg apartment to suburban New Jersey for love and now we are happily married with a baby.

I recommend doing the “crazy” things.

7. What do you love most about Jersey City?

Without a doubt, the community. Even before being a mom, there’s a neighborhood feel to Jersey City where people take care of each other and engage with each other. I’ve made friends just spending time at our many wonderful spots. But now as a mother, the community vibe is in full effect. I don’t think I could have survived my first year of motherhood without the amazing moms of Jersey City and my beloved @JerseyCityMamas on instagram. Jersey City has the hottest, most talented, most boss lady mom community anywhere! Fight me on it!

8. What do you love most about being a mom?

Two big things come to mind:

Witnessing his wonder and excitement at these seemingly mundane parts of life. Children make life magical.

The sisterhood that the shared experience of motherhood creates. I’ve been able to connect so deeply with other women because of our shared experiences. It’s a beautiful and transformative aspect of motherhood that I’m so grateful for.

9. Any tips/secrets you can share about being a hot mom?

Take photos of yourself. Do things to celebrate your body and your sexuality. As a mom, your body goes through so much. It doesn’t matter what size you are right now and if it’s different than what it used to be. Treat your body well; thank it for all it’s done for you, think nice thoughts about it, compliment it, buy it nice clothes, and celebrate it!

My names Bridget Lynn Negron, I’m 30, and I’m a Makeup artist! I’ve been doing my craft for close to 11 years and have now decided to go back to school and get my cosmetology license! I’m three months in and loving it! I live in the heights and have been here for the past 12 years and absolutely love it here. My son Grayson is six, turning seven May 11th and he is the light of my life. I really couldn’t tell you about my life pre-Grayson because it wasn’t as eventfully or fulfilling as it is now. I’m a freelance make up artist and I’m currently attending beauty school and working toward getting my cosmetology license. My dream job is to own my own business and live life on my own terms. Natasha Luccia

Natasha Luccia and Lucia Jade have been best friends for a little over 7 years. They’ve argued over naptimes and made up over mangoes. Weekends consist of every activity known to man – weekdays…well, also consist of every activity known to man. Natasha Luccia figured with Lucia’s height she’d be into sports and high intense activities. But no, Lucia would much rather sew or build things. Both Jersey City girls, they enjoy walks in Lincoln Park with their dog “bb” and laughing hysterically at their cat “Cat” as he stares back with a blank look. They prefer to bond over pizza + crayons. They hug…a lot.

1. What do you currently do for a living and what is your dream job?

I recently landed my dream “job” for a governmental agency in transportation working in aviation and capital projects. However, my ultimate dream dream dream job is freelancing as a writer for transportation grants/compliance/policies as an esq and running my non profit “Lucy and Lucci” full time…all in pajamas…on a farm.

2. What is your favorite place to hang out or eat in Jersey City?

My favorite place…that’s a joke right? No more of “my” favorite places when you have a girl like Lucy – so …. Lucia loves Porta. We had a friend who would make her heart-shaped pizza on command – we miss him. The girls there all love Lucy, @cambodionce makes her shirley temples – she feels like a super star every time she goes in.

3. How does it feel to be nominated as a JC babe?

I was waiting on a long line to use the bathroom in New Orleans for Jazz Fest when I saw the nomination and started yelling across the field to let my boyfriend know – he grinned + gave me a thumbs up. No one behind me on line cared. Eff them, I’m a JC babe/hot mom – two titles.

4. How did becoming a mom change the way you feel about yourself? or contribute to your hotness?

It made me realize a few things but most importantly, that I’ll have to hide in the bathroom to eat an entire jug of ice cream without sharing for the rest of my life. I just pretend to have a really bad stomach ache and camp out. But seriously, she is probably the most compassionate and profound human I know, and being a good person is super hot. So I’m learning from her. Thank you, small human.

5. What are 3 random facts about yourself?

(1) Don’t take me to the aquarium – everything looks like dinner

I love traveling with Lucia, its too much fun. She the best carry on item – we’ve traveled over 15 times in her 7 years of life. The other day she asked me “Mom, remember in Dominican Republic when we were on the yacht and we were swimming with fish, what was the fish’s name?” I had no clue. Sue me.

Gabrielle Alexander

Born and bred in NJ, I moved to Jersey City 8 years ago, literally onto a friend’s couch (thanks Erin!). I now have my own place where I live with my husband Travis, my son Jack, and my cat Bruce Wayne. I was (and still kind of am) a punk-ish nerd who spent most of my time growing up reading books or going to shows. Becoming a mom gave me curves baby! But honestly, motherhood pushed me to love harder and sacrifice more than I ever thought I was capable of- it gave me superpowers.

I’m my favorite amateur photographer.
If I am truly laughing you will hear a snort.
I have a degree in English but just had to look up the correct spelling for “amateur.” Don’t judge.

6. What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done or wanted to do?

I’ve done some things…nothing I’m willing to put into print. I DID almost exclusively pump for 13 months straight- that shit is CRAZY.

The sense of community is perfect. From Kanibal to the Hair Room to P&K- I know these people, they’re genuinely great humans and they’re part of my daily life, how lucky is that?

My kid! He’s gorgeous and amazing, and he’s weird like me.

What us hot moms have cannot be taught…but find yourself some friends who get it, surround yourself with the amazing women you wanted to be when you grew up, and you start to become one of them.

I was born in Queens, NY, raised in Belleville, NJ, and now call my home Jersey City. I am a creative person who has a love for the arts and outdoor travel whether it’s visiting museums in the city or hiking up in Maine.

I work as a Technical Illustrator for Anne Klein and as an Adjunct Professor for St. Peter’s University.

2. What is your favorite place to hang out or eat in Jersey City?

Hamilton Inn has always been a favorite of mine. They have a great menu and great cocktails! Bucket and Bay is also one of my go to hangouts where I can grab a coffee or enjoy some gelato while grading assignments.

3. How does it feel to be nominated as a JC babe?

As a new mom, who is just coming off the “fourth trimester” it feels pretty darn good and was an uplifting moment.

4. How did becoming a mom change the way you feel about yourself? or contribute to your hotness?

Becoming a new mom has made me feel like a totally different person. I can’t picture my life without my son, he is a part of me who makes me strive to be my best. It’s a wonderful feeling. I’ve learned a lot about myself and am still learning.

5. What are 3 random facts about yourself?

I used to work on a Schooner in Maine

I love plants and currently own about 40 house plants

I have run 5 marathons

6. What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done or wanted to do?

For our honeymoon, my husband and I climbed Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. It wasn’t much of a honeymoon as I had altitude sickness for most of it but it was a most humbling and adventurous experience.

7. What do you love most about Jersey City?

I have lived in Jersey City for 12 years and love the diversity here. Along with the new restaurants and shops opening, there are gems that have been here for years.

8. What do you love most about being a mom?

My son is only 3 and a half months old and he’s brought meaning to my life that I didn’t know existed. I love the person he pushes me to be and I am inspired to be a better version of myself for him. It has been the hardest and most rewarding experience and I truly love it.

9. Any tips/secrets you can share about being a hot mom?

I would say to all moms out there to make sure you take time for yourself and place importance on your self care. This not only goes for your outer but your inner self care which can take the form of eating healthy, getting out there to exercise, therapy and expressing gratitude. These are all things I do for myself as I want to be my best, well rested, present self for my son.

My name is Jessica Galeota. I have been living in Jersey City for about three years now with my two little girls Sophia and Rubi, husband Darren and Dog. I am a Canadian transplant that most recently moved from Miami Beach. I love spending time with my family, friends and traveling.

1. What do you currently do for a living and what is your dream job?

I am a Real Estate agent and Broker in New Jersey and Florida. My areas of expertise are Jersey City, Hoboken and South Florida specifically Miami. Luckily for me, this is my dream job, and I love anything that has to do with Real Estate and interior design. I also hope to one day start a non-profit to help children and youth in our community.

In the summer, Pier 13 in Hoboken and all year round, Gringo’s in Jersey City.

4. How did becoming a mom change the way you feel about yourself? or contribute to your hotness?

Becoming a mother makes you the best version of yourself. You discover a strength that you most likely couldn’t imagine before kids. I have become more confident in my own skin and less concerned with the opinions of others. I am the mother of two girls and it is very important for me to be an example and teach them self love and confidence.

I am Colombian and Italian, born and raised in Toronto, Canada. I lived in Miami for about eight years.

6. What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done or wanted to do?

The craziest thing I have done was probably the time I went on vacation to Miami for the first time and decided I was going to live there. Six months later I did it and never looked back. My poor family… honestly it was the best decision I ever made and I am so happy it lead me to where I am today.

7. What do you love most about Jersey City?

I love how diverse JC is. Coming from a multicultural background myself and being raised in Canada which is such a diverse country this is very important to me. Jersey City feels like home. I love raising my kids in a city where all their friends come from different backgrounds so my kids can learn to respect and appreciate people from everywhere.

8. What do you love most about being a mom?

I love watching my girls grow and seeing the excitement in their eyes every time they learn or see something new. Have two little ones very close in age and getting to watch them playing and laughing together is the best feeling ever.

Seriously, just don’t forget about who you were before having kids and don’t feel bad to be a little selfish. Take care of yourself the way you did before kids. Motherhood is all about balance. My name is Dominique Castillo. I am 26 years old. I was born in Hoboken NJ. I am a single mother of 3 beautiful smart girls. My oldest is 5 years old and my twins are going to be 2 on Mothers Day. Jersey City has many exquisite places from nightlife to fine dining, even events for children. One of my favorite places that come to mind is the Rooftop at Exchange Place.

Being nominated as a Jersey City hot mom has definitely brought a smile to my face. Working hard to achieve your dream is a personal endeavor but when your hard work is noticed and celebrated it is very validating. I am also grateful for the exposure that my business will receive from this honor.

Being a mom has definitely given my focus and drive. My girls are my motivation and a daily reminder of what is at stake. I work hard as an example to them of what a strong woman looks like and is capable of. In addition, my kids keep me active which helps me to stay fit. This is a wonderful benefit since it is difficult to make it to the gym. (lol)

What I love about being a mom most is that my children keep me going and give me that extra inspiration. The simplest gesture from my girls, such as a smile, can change my entire mood.

It is important to pamper yourself every now and then. Happy mom = happy chidden. Don’t be afraid of putting effort into your appearance. Just because you have kids does not mean you have to lose yourself. When you feel good you look good and when you look good you feel even better.

I’m the mom of two curious and goofy three year old twin girls. We have been living in Jersey City for almost four years and couldn’t be more happy to call this place our home. It’s an exciting time in my life as I’m in the process of self-publishing my first three children’s books this year under my new company, Modern Marigold Books! I’m a stay-at-home mom pursuing my lifelong dream of writing. Through my newly established company, Modern Marigold Books, I look forward to self-publishing a line of children’s books focused on cultural identity and self-love. I’m also finally working on my first novel.

My absolute favorite place to spend the day in Jersey City is Liberty State Park.

Well to be honest, I’m not sure I ever really considered myself to be “hot” but this is certainly a huge year for me, one in which I am consciously focusing on my goals and happiness. Being nominated was such a wonderful surprise and has definitely added to everything this year is shaping up to be.

Becoming a twin mom helped me realize just how much I am capable of doing. Looking back on my journey over the last three years and all the hurdles I have overcome, gives me so much confidence. It truly is an affirmation that I can strive towards and achieve any of my goals, no matter how big or far away they may seem.

Let’s see… I’ll take a new experience over a new thing any day. I take astrology way too seriously. And the best phrase to describe me is probably, “Jack of all trades, master of none”

6. What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done or wanted to do?

For the longest time, the craziest thing on my bucket list was to go skydiving but thinking about it now, it would have to be packing up the family and moving to a new country for 6 months. I love traveling and learning about new cultures, so I think that would really be an amazing experience to have.

7. What do you love most about Jersey City?

There are two things actually – I love it’s neighborhood feel. We’re always running into someone or the other we know and really feel a sense of belonging. I also love how wonderful of a place it is to raise a family. It has a little bit of everything and there is always something fun or new to do.

I love being surrounded by the creativity, enthusiasm and curiosity of my kids. It has really helped me reconnect with my inner child and has allowed me to see the world from a new perspective.

Always remember to make time for yourself as much as you can. Whether it’s time for your hobbies, goals or time to rest and rejuvenate – The happier you are, the more you’ll be able to pass that happiness onto those around you.

My name is Leila and I have been living in Jersey City for about 5 years now! Becoming a Mom was quite a surprise for me and I still can hardly believe it’s real. I actually moved here to nanny for a wonderful family and ended up with a family of my own. Funny how life has a sense of humor.

1. What do you currently do for a living and what is your dream job?

I was working for a family in the city as a nanny while finishing up my degree when I found out the news I was expecting. I’ve always loved health and exercise and have goals to become a health and fitness motivator as a dream job. Also would love to be involved in music as it’s been such a core part of my life. Since I was young, I was playing piano, guitar, singing and writing my own songs. It has become more of a hobby than a dream job over the years, although when I was younger I thought otherwise.

2. What is your favorite place to hang out or eat in Jersey City?

Ani ramen has become quite an addiction as of recent and you can find me there too frequently. I love to hang out around Jersey and don’t have a favorite spot, stopping everywhere is the typical night out. But right now, I would say Porta’s rooftop is my favorite with this nicer weather coming.

3. How does it feel to be nominated as a JC babe?

I felt so embarrassed and shy about being nominated. But now I think I’m proud because being a mom is so new and sometimes even scary. We got this moms!

4. How did becoming a mom change the way you feel about yourself? or contribute to your hotness?

Being a mom gave me a real reality check. I feel incredibly responsible for this little life and want to do the best I possibly can. I want my little girl to have the most wonderful life and always feel happy and loved, but also I want her to be strong and equipped to face challenges.

I can ride a unicycle. So weird but for some reason when I was younger I wanted to do that.

I was homeschooled. My mom taught my sister and me. I give her credit cause I can’t imagine doing that!

I wrote my first song at age 4. When I was little, I would sing nonstop. My parents thought I was gonna make them famous cause I would talk, sing, perform for anyone. Not a shy child at all.

I want to skydive! I plan on making that happen this summer. I think moving here by myself without knowing anyone was the craziest thing I’ve ever done.

I love the sense of community in Jersey City. Everyone knows each other. I have been able to see how much it has grown and changed in the last 5 years, I love that I can appreciate that growth.
