Keep reading and get to know our JC babes for March.
Meet Lynette @mslynettemarie
Lynette Collazo is a 26 year old Puerto Rican from Jersey. Growing up, everyone knew her as the quiet, shy girl who can dance her butt off. Now she’s out of her shell and following her dreams of becoming an artist/entertainer. She’s an influencer and a body activist on social media, and everyone loves her for her great energy and the love she constantly puts out to the world.
1. What do you currently do for a living and what is your dream job?
I am currently a dog walker in Hoboken. I love animals and I work for myself, which is a plus. My dream job is to not have a job, haha. I just want to be happy. Growing up, I always had this feeling inside that I was meant for greatness and never saw myself working for anyone else. Seeing how miserable my parents were, I knew there was more to life than going to work and paying the bills so I didn’t want to end up like that. I just want to continue to be an artist, entertain, be an inspiration to many, to love and stand up for what’s right. Making a change and to travel the world and continue to create. If I can make money doing that, I am a happy camper.
2. What is your favorite place to eat or hang out in Jersey City?
My favorite place to hang out in Jersey City is Barcade. Although I love dancing my butt off, I really prefer a chill, good vibes type of night. I also love playing games. I am super competitive! Barcade has some great beer too, and I’m not a huge fan of beer so that should say a lot.
3. How does it feel to be nominated as a JC babe?
Being nominated for JC Babes for March is such an honor. I am still pretty shocked. I’ve never been nominated for anything and I never won any class polls for both 8th grade and High School. I wasn’t ever the popular kid so this feels pretty awesome! I just want to say thank you again for nominating me. I love and appreciate you all for seeing something in me that I sometimes don’t see in myself or I just need to be reminded, but don’t we all? Haha!
4.What are 3 random facts about yourself?
Three random facts about myself, hmmm…
Fact #1. I used to play for a women’s professional football league based in Brooklyn, New York. The team is called New York Sharks and yes, it’s tackle football, not flag, not lingerie. Full gear tackle football. Those women go so hard and it was such a great and challenging experience.
Fact #2. Growing up, my parents never bought me a Halloween costume so I used to always make my own. Shout out to my parents because that really helped me tap into my creative side.
Fact #3. When I was a little girl, the only way my mom was able to keep me sitting down on the couch while she was cleaning was to put both a Marc Anthony and a Selena Quintanilla cassette on. I knew every song on the cassette for both and I used to happily sing it on the couch, haha.
5. What is the craziest thing you’ve done or ever wanted to do?
I have done a lot of crazy things and I have no idea which one is the craziest, but I’ll give you one. I went skinny dipping in a hotel pool in Orlando, Florida. It was nice and bright outside, hahaha. It was such a free feeling, I must say. One crazy thing I do want to do is swim with sharks.
6. What do you love most about Jersey City?
What I love most about Jersey City might be Liberty State Park. I used to love going there as a little girl. My dad used to take us so we can run around and have fun while he went crabbing. Best part was going home because once my dad finished cooking the crabs, it was dinner time and boy, they were so good! Plus you get to enjoy the beautiful view of New York and the view of Statue of Liberty.
