Last night my hubby and I attended the 9th Annual Snow Ball at the Art House. Since I started ChicpeaJC in May, everyone has been talking to me about the Snow Ball, telling me it is THE event of the year! That everyone goes all out for this Gala/JC Prom. I’ve been thinking about what to wear since June…
Fast forward to a week ago, when I went to visit Christine at Art House…. she gave me a tour, told me the story on how it was founded, and of course the Snow Ball lowdown. I then realized, I had less then a week to figure out what to wear… I am usually really on top of things, especially when it comes to outfits, but for this event, I really procrastinated! Yesterday morning came around, and I was lounging in my PJ’s with mini chicpea and the anxiety kicked in….
I posted this on Facebook: “Yo. The struggle is real. I have no clue what to wear to the Snow Ball tonight…. Fashion Blogger my a$$. Who wants to come over, do my hair, makeup and style me? Anyone? going once? going twice…. sold to the toddler wearing a onesie!” I prefer to complain sometimes instead of taking action!
6pm rolls around, I walk into my closet, pick out the first dress that spoke to me (I’ve worn this dress to about 10 weddings) an old vintage hat and a pair of fabulous heels with feathers and I was ready for the party. #effortless
We got to the Snow Ball at around 8:30, and right away I was blown away by peoples outfits! Now before I start my blogging duties though, I need to work it on the red carpet!! How handsome is the hubby?!
We walked into the theatre area and it was packed with so many different people, I just loved the diverse crowd! you had people in full on tuxes and people dressed in crazy unique outfits! I loved every minute… it was fashion porn.
Time for some eats and drinks! The signature cocktail was delicious, I had like 3 of them! #turnup.
The Rebeca Vallejo Trio kicked off the party and they were amazing!
After that all the people who dressed up for the occasion, walked the stage to show off their outfits!
DJ George Soul was there spinning and he put on a Michael Jackson tune… so of course I had to go on stage and grab my crotch….#classy
After that they brought on last year’s winner Vincent Minervini to hand over the torch to the new winner! Congrats!!
DJ George Soul was spinning some old school favorites and people were really tearing up the dance floor! I was very impressed with some of the dance moves I saw!
I am a little disappointed the Mayor didn’t show up! I was looking forward to taking some shots with him! #jcmakeitturnt.
Now on to my favorite section! Stylish Peeps Galore!! I will let the fashion and people speak for themselves!! So great!!
Such a fun night! at around midnight it was time for my carriage to turn into a pumpkin. I had a blast partying with my JC friends! I am pooped. Thanks to all the people behind the Art House and this wonderful event, you guys really kicked ass. I didn’t have this much fun at my own prom!!
Advil, water and nap time!
