Halloween is just a few weeks away and if you do not already have your costume planned, here are a few ideas that are a little bit less typical Halloween and a bit more fashion-forward.
From the infamous Carrie Bradshaw to the iconic look of Wonder Woman, these famous outfits are both stylish and creative. You could go the more traditional fairy wings and witch hat, but I know if you are reading this, you probably want to stand out from all the basics.
Vivian Ward
Pull on your favorite over the knee boots, a cut out dress, and tie a boyfriend blazer around your waist and you are all set. You can also do a fun wig for this one and put on basically every piece of jewelry you own.
Carrie Bradshaw
All you need for this memorable look is a tulle skirt, a strappy heel and a bodysuit. If you are afraid people will not know who you are, carry a copy of a fashion magazine and a notebook.
Annie Hall
You may have to borrow from the boys a little bit for this one but it is as simple as a menswear vest, a white button down, a short brim hat, and a tie. If you want to go a bit further, grab a woven beach bag and a pair of high waisted khakis.
Slash
If you are feeling a bit more Rock ‘n’ Roll this year, put on a curly black wig and pair your favorite ripped denim or leather pants with a rocker tee and denim jacket or vest. The glasses and hat would be a nice touch, but are not totally necessary.
Salt-N-Pepa
Inspired by all the 90’s style we are seeing this year, (and if you are thinking of doing a fun group costume) put on door knocker earrings, red boots (which are totally on trend right now anyway), a colorful jacket, and a fanny pack. You could do a monotone legging and top look as your base, which could be your basic workout tank and legging.
Street Style Star
Anna Dello Russo is known for being one of the most daring style icons out there and even if you are not familiar with her, you know how important street style has become to the fashion industry. The more outrageous the better, wear one or two cameras around your neck, big sunglasses, bright colors, and flash as many brand names as possible.
Baywatch Babe
Full piece swimsuits are a huge trend right now so it would be a great time to buy one on sale. This costume is super easy, put on a fashionable red suit, a whistle, and you are set.
Wonder Woman
Lastly, if you are a DC Comics lover, and in for a little more work, you can do a DIY project with a corset, a black wig, and some gold and burgundy spray paint. Pair the corset with a blue mini skirt or pants and a pair of gladiator sandals or knee high boots. For a little extra, add a rope and paint it gold to get the full truth lasso effect.
