Hello Friends,
I always ask locals how they ended up in Jersey City. Here is my story:
4 years ago we lived in the Upper East Side and we fucking hated it! Our apartment was facing first avenue, it was noisy and stinky and I don’t think we had a restful night sleep in two years! To top that off, our commute was awful. Needless to say we needed to get the fuck out.
We explored different areas in the city and considered moving to Brooklyn. Around that time my parents (Ima and Aba) came to visit us in their motor home and they parked it in Jersey City so they told us we should check it out. We came out here one weekend and after walking around the neighbourhood, checking out the luxury apartments that cost the same as Manhattan shoeboxes and eating ibby’s falafel…. we were sold! Where do we sign?
Fast forward to now, I am so happy to be a part of a growing community, and it is amazing to see the “hood” flourish! Jersey City is filled with so many trendy shops, restaurants and people… The hipsters are literally invading! I see beards, ray-bans and tattoos everywhere! I feel at home now :)
Recently, we attended the Jersey City Project Earth day on Grove street. An amazing event organized by local JC residents and business owners.
This event included local food vendors, designers, shops and even a visit from our awesome mayor Steven Fulop (he is such a stud!)
