NuView Productions is a wedding videography company that specializes in documenting life’s special moments. I caught up with founder Michael Fiore to hear more about his company and what makes them especially unique in the wedding videography space!
What’s your name and what do you do?
My name is Michael D. Fiore, and I am the co-founder and lead editor of NuView Weddings, a Long Island-based wedding videography company.
Tell us more about your business. How did it start?
We are absolutely in love with, and wildly passionate about wedding videography. It all started with our filmmaking company, NuView Productions. In 2018 Michael LaMarca, Jim Galizia and myself co-founded NuView Productions. Like many startups, the initial conversation began in the backyard garden of my East Village apartment.
We began moving the needle forward and following our passion for cinematography by producing short films and corporate films. The composition, style and creativity of our portfolio caught the eye of a well-known Long Island DJ company who asked us to collaborate by filming weddings for them! This was the beginning of our wedding video journey and opened the door for us to explore a space we had not considered previously.
As we grew as artists, so did our corporate synergy, allowing us to give back to the community. We invested in the community by writing, recording, engineering, shooting, performing and editing a music video which helped the Mackenzie Cadmus family raise over $200,000 for a surgery that helped save Mackenzie’s life. The positive feedback and local press boosted our recognition and also our confidence to step up our game. We were hired to produce a reality TV show and commercials for impactful businesses including Ford.
By this time, we were ready to dive into the wedding space and provide a first class experience for something as important as a wedding day! We were officially Long Island wedding videographers! With the amount of praise we have received in such a short amount of time, we know that our wedding videos are unique and special. We could not be more grateful to the brides who have trusted us to capture their precious moments and let us do what we love.
Why wedding videography?
Many people look at a wedding video as a way to record the events of their big day, but we look at it as an opportunity to create a work of art. As the lead editor, wedding videography allows me the freedom to unpack every creative concept I can think of. I would easily describe our wedding videos as a Disney-like fairytale mixed with the energy of a David Guetta concert.
With COVID changing everyone’s wedding plans, how have you adjusted as a business?
Our team was able to pivot rather easily. We were determined to find ways to give brides alternative options since so much of their plans have been derailed over the past year. We completely feel for these couples and wanted to give them something to be excited about again. COVID has allowed us to give back to our community yet again, but this time, through helping couples with budget constraints. Everyone deserves a wedding.
We created a new “Mini-mony” package, making weddings affordable during these tough times. This has also given us a chance to be seen as a company that cares. No one saw this pandemic coming and while we feel for the vendors who are still charging for cancelled plans, we don’t believe in this. We want to be there for your big moments and supporting our couples has been our number one priority.
What services do you currently offer?
Although we specialize in cinematic wedding films we actually released a new service, which we are EXTREMELY EXCITED to introduce! Our new Looking Back Films are unique and sets us apart from any other wedding videography company in the industry.
Unlike a traditional wedding film, Looking Back Films are meant to highlight the whole of your relationship using footage that our loving couples have accumulated over their time together! It’s a trip down memory lane with your soulmate. These films are absolutely perfect to premiere at engagement parties, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, wedding ceremonies, and wedding receptions. This one-of-a-kind service is currently attracting couples from all over the country, expanding our reach and ability to work with brides from all over.
What is your favorite part about capturing people’s most special moments?
My favorite part about capturing people’s most special moments comes from my love of time and space. I know, that sounds weird, but hear me out… We can never go back in time (unless you have an ’85 DeLorean parked in the garage) so when we capture those intimate interactions on film, it becomes more than a video. It’s a way of looking back into the past. It’s a way of capturing moments that would otherwise be forgotten. It allows us to record the evolution of humanity. It’s a way to evoke emotions you didn’t know you had. For our brides and grooms, it also means they get to experience their wedding day through the eyes of their parents, grandparents, friends and best of all, each other. That’s what makes NuView Weddings Videography, NuView Weddings Videography!
How do you anticipate weddings changing post-covid?
I anticipate that post-COVID weddings will become more creative. I believe that live streaming will become a standard for couples who have family and friends who cannot attend.
Anything else you would like people to know?
I’d like people to know that this is only the beginning!
