You know that “gut” feeling you get right in your solar plexus that appears to be the perfect balance between heart and mind? That, my loves, is intuition! It often defies logic and many times doesn’t make much sense in the moment. It is merely this overwhelming feeling of knowingness that we cannot deny. They say if prayer/meditation is how we speak to God, than intuition is how God speaks to us. Intuition is like a spiritual GPS lighting the right path for us to walk. But many of us are so consumed in the stress of our daily lives that we’ve forgotten how to listen and tune into our intuition. Most of us live from a place of “ego.” Now in spiritual terms, the “ego” represents that fear-based inner script that is constantly placing limits on our potential, telling you You can’t do that, You’re not good enough, and so on. This state of mind clouds our connection to our highest self, which is where intuition lies.
I spent a long time denying my intuition. I’d get these overwhelmingly strong gut feelings and, because they did not seem logical in the moment, I would defy them. At times even feeling guilty for what my intuition was guiding me to do, because in my mind I could not understand the purpose. And sure enough, each time I chose to deny my intuition, things would fall apart. After years of living in this state of mind, I began to realize that intuition is not meant to be understood in the present moment.
Your angels and guides can see the bigger picture, and intuition is merely a tool for them to communicate their guidance. Intuition defies logic. It is a gift solely based on trust, which is why we struggle with it so much. We are all divine beings connected to source energy, but in order for us to tap into that intuitive guidance, we must first quiet our minds and listen. A great way to quiet our minds and receive guidance is through meditation. Meditation can be intimidating for some, but the important thing to remember when meditating is to allow your breath to be your anchor. Just focus on your breath, bringing awareness to every inhale and exhale. A way to determine what is intuition and what is ego is to identify whether the guidance feels fear-based or empowering. If it feels fear-based and insecure, then it is the ego. If it feels natural and empowering, then it is intuition.
Life is filled with beautiful opportunities, connections, and experiences available to us all. And in order to fully embrace these gifts we must be willing to let our intuition be our compass.
