Workshop Series on Business Development
In another effort to support the small business community, Mayor Fulop announced a new workshop series that will help with the development of small businesses. The courses will be bi-monthly and FREE! Better yet, these workshops will focus on things like social media, city ordinances, and payroll management.

Mayor Fulop to go On The Record and Power and Politics
This weekend, Mayor Fulop will be going on two of the top New Jersey political shows to speak about the upcoming decision for an amendment to expand gaming beyond Atlantic City to North Jersey.
- On The Recordwith Michael Aron airs on NJTV on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. & Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
- Power & Politicsairs on News12 New Jersey on Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 4:30 p.m.
Greenville Renaissance to Adopt Redevelopment Plan
The southern end of the city will be undergoing a redevelopment plan for Ocean Avenue South. The plan will allow for a “greater density around transit, implement zoning for new, mixed-use residential development, and to rebuild Ocean Avenue as a thriving commercial district.” This district has 21 acres and 115 individuals lots that include one- and two-family homes, senior housing, places of worship, and low-rise apartments.

Petition Calls for Mayor Fulop to Reject Casino
Aaron Morrill of Jersey City recently began an online petition on Change.org to stop the plans for a 90-story casino to be built next to Liberty State Park. The petition currently has 256 signatures and is seeking to reach a total of 500.

Governor Chris Christi has recently released a proposal to lease public parkland to private developers. What does that mean for Liberty State Park? “Cash Mobs” for Ribbon Cuttings
As a new strategy to bring business to grand openings and ribbon cutting ceremonies, the city has introduced “Cash Mobs.” The role that “Cash Mobs” will play a similar role to that of Flash Mobs where a group of people will be summoned to gather at a designated location at a specific time. The use of Cash Mobs will help with the promotion of businesses and their events.
Girls on the Rise
Girls on the Rise Mentoring Program had their official launch with creator Makeeba Greene. Girls on the Rise and will offer entrepreneurship, leadership, financial literacy, academic, life skills, field trips & more to young women. Girls On the Rise services young women from the age of 9 – 25 and will help connect them to other positive young women who are doing incredible things within their community. The program will run from January 2016 through April 2016.

Nimbus Dance Works Starts New Program
Nimbus Dance Works announces their new program Nimbus Junior Youth Ensemble for aspiring dance students. This performance ensemble is for youth ages 8-12 and students will work closely with professional choreographers and develop tight bonds with a core group of motivated peers.
