Vinny Seda – @vinnyseda
Hey everyone, my name is Vince Seda, strangers call me Vinny. I’m 28 years old, pursuing acting, caring about humanitarian crises, & if I didn’t make it clear before, experiencing the world through copious amounts of food. I consider myself to be a pretty laid back guy. I have friends from all walks of life since I do tend to get along with almost everyone. I believe in being kind to one another and that a life without passion is a waste.
What do you currently do for a living?
During the school year (September-June), I work at a school as an assistant teacher. It is a kindergarten classroom with the most energetic and naturally curious little beings I have ever met. Acting is my main side hustle, which with the right opportunity *fingers crossed* will make it a more viable option for income.
What is your dream job?
My dream job would be to get cast on a long running television show where people will forever associate me with that character, I’d lose all individuality and probably detest being called by that character’s name, but will console myself with all the puppy love this world has to offer. That sounds like a dream to me.
What is your favorite place to hang out or eat in Jersey City?
It definitely has to be Another Man’s Treasure. I started going to that vintage shop close to 10 years ago and it’s easily one of the best places to walk into and find inspiration. The owners have always been really kind to me and they are possibly the swaggiest couple I know. Check them out. The shop, not them.
How does it feel to be nominated as a JC babe?
I don’t think I have ever been referred to as a babe. It’s bringing back all these memories of watching Zack Morris and AC Slater trying to pick up girls. I’d be okay with them calling me a babe. Chicpea is a close second.
What are 3 random facts about yourself?
I can play the violin & viola. I am classically trained.
I’ve always hated being in front of the camera, I began this journey into film with hopes of being a writer or director. In fact, I’ve hated being in front of the camera so much I skipped out on my HS yearbook photo and instead they put a haiku. My mom was PISSED.
My last name, Seda, is Spanish for silk. Like the almond milk.
What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done or wanted to do?
This could probably be a column in itself. But more recently, my good friend Sal just got his pilot’s license and has invited me in the air. If you know Sal as I do, you know this would be some crazy shit having him fly you around.
What do you love most about Jersey City?
The food. This blog. Vintage shops. People walking their dogs. It’s diverse. Easy to get to and from the city. Barcade. The Pet Shop. The Doors cover band I saw there once, this goes on and on..
