If you’re looking for ways to keep yourself occupied, here are just a few things you can do while you spend more time at home!
Take care of yourself
There are a lot of news updates coming in and it can be overwhelming. Take breaks from social media so you don’t get sucked into the stress.
Use some face + eye masks and take a 20-minute break.
Give yourself a mani-pedi.
Treat yourself to yoga and meditation classes. Asana Soul Practice is offering online sessions for everyone to enjoy at home. You could also find guided meditations on YouTube.
Try home workouts
Home workouts are available all over the Internet. Follow a tutorial or find what works for you. If you have equipment already available at home, even better! Being inside doesn’t mean we can’t keep active on a daily basis.
Spend time on your hobbies
If you’ve ever wanted to try something new or if you’ve been putting off a hobby you enjoy, now’s a good time to get into it.
Write a poem or short story. Learn a different language with Duolingo. Write a new song. Follow a Bob Ross tutorial and create a beautiful landscape painting. Bring out that coloring book. Use this time to pursue a creative outlet.
Read a new book
We all do it. We buy books, intend to read them, and maybe even start reading them before putting them down and getting carried away with work/school. This is a good time to read that book you haven’t had the chance to finish, or starting a new book you’ve had your eye on.
Video chat with friends and family
We live in a great, convenient time where you can video chat with anyone who has access to the internet. Don’t completely isolate yourself – catch up with friends and check on your family via FaceTime, Google Hangouts, Skype, etc.
Discover new artists
Support local artists by streaming and buying their music if you find that it’s music you enjoy. Otherwise, why not just browse through Spotify and find some new playlists? Explore other genres of music.
Bake some sweet treats
Bake some cookies, cupcakes, or brownies as a treat for the week. Cookies last very long when kept in the freezer, so make a batch for the whole family and save some for another night. This could also be a fun activity to do with kids to keep them occupied with a sweet reward at the end.
Play board games with the family
If you and your family are in need of something engaging to do, play a board game! It gets everyone involved and it can be a fun way to pass the time. If you don’t have family around, you could always start a puzzle.
Learn a new skill/trade
YouTube has a plethora of online tutorials that are free. You can learn graphic design, photography, cooking, branding, literally everything and anything that you can use to better yourself and maybe your business. You got the time!
Spring clean
Organize your apartment. Marie Kondo your whole space, get rid of clutter and unnecessary items. It will feel so good and productive!
