We all love a good hidden gem, and what’s more lowkey than a speakeasy? Here are 5 speakeasies you should check out if you’re NYC or the metropolitan area.
Peachy’s
5 Doyers St
Peachy’s is a cocktail bar tucked below Chinese Tuxedo in Chinatown and has only two rules: no photos and no fighting. Enjoy their signature cocktails and elixir cocktails while you sit at a booth surrounded by cherry blossoms and Gucci wallpaper.
The 18th Room
134 9th Ave
What makes The 18th Room stand out is its personalized experience, down to the drinks offered to you. You enter through a coffee supply store, making it a very inconspicuous spot for a date night or a hangout. Be sure to RSVP ahead of time, as the 18th Room is all seated.
Sunshine Laundromat
860 Manhattan Ave, Brooklyn
Located inside an unassuming shop, you can find the bar and pinball arcade in the back of Sunshine Laundromat. Walk in through a washer/dryer door and you’ll find yourself surrounded by pinball machines, all available to play.
Please Don’t Tell (PDT)
113 St Marks Pl
Despite its name, Please Don’t Tell is a spot we had to tell you about. You can find PDT inside of Crif Dogs in the East Village, and your way in is through a phone booth entrance. Be sure to book a reservation beforehand, as it’s an intimate space and it can be difficult to get in without one. You can find more tips on TrustedTravelGirl.com.
Little Branch (LB)
22 7th Ave S

There’s a chance you may have walked past Little Branch without even realizing it. The entrance is a plain black door right on the corner of Leroy St and 7th Ave S, and it leads into a super intimate bar. The lighting is a bit dark, adding to the intimate feel, and the classic cocktails offered are tasty.
