You’d be surprised by the impact of a kind word or a small action of love. Showing someone you care about them and their well-being, or just being nice to someone when they may be having a rough day, can make a difference in their lives.
Buy someone a cup of coffee
You can pay it forward and pay for coffee for the stranger in line behind you, or you can buy a friend/coworker coffee on your way to see them. Especially if it’s the morning, buying a cup of coffee for someone can be the best gift.
Just smile and say hi to someone
It takes seconds to say hello to someone, and you never know if someone’s having a bad day. Say hello, ask about their day, or just give them a nice compliment.
Focus on self-love and reflect on what you’re thankful for
Random Acts of Kindness doesn’t isn’t just for others. You can show love to yourself. Don’t forget to show appreciation for the things you often overlook or take for granted, and point out the qualities you enjoy about yourself.
Make plans with an old friend
Do you have someone in your life you’re still cool with, but just haven’t made time for? Hit them up and ask if they want to hang out sometime soon, and you could catch up on each other’s lives.
Spread love and send a positive message to a friend
The ultimate perk of having friends are equally as loving as I am is being able to send love to them and they send love back. We’re corny, but whenever one of us is having a particularly difficult day, it’s nice to know we have friends around who care.
Tell someone you love them
We don’t all have the luxury of having all of our loved ones in our lives. Show appreciation to the people you care about while they’re around.
Buy food or cook a meal for someone
Most people love free food. Maybe pay for lunch for you and a friend, buy a snack for a coworker, or cook a meal for you and a loved one. You could even share a meal with someone in need.
Put your phone away
Putting your phone away or leaving it alone while talking to someone makes all the difference. It shows someone that you care about the conversation and giving your undivided attention.
Tip your waiters/baristas/anyone in hospitality
You should just do this every day. Tipping someone shows that you enjoyed the service provided to you. Many hospitality workers receive a low base pay and rely on tips, so if they provided a decent service, why not tip them?
Send a care package
If you have friends studying abroad or just far enough where you can’t visit, send a care package! Fill up a box of treats, throw in some self-care items like cozy socks or a bath bomb, and send it over!
