I met Dee and her hubby about 8 months ago at Cafe Peanut in Journal Square, we clicked right away as we are both crazy “Momtrepreneurs” – She owns three businesses, takes care of her family and is totally fabulous, I just love her.

Dee invited me last week to tour her second business, a pre-school in Downtown JC “The Academy of Excellence Pre-School” that’s been around for over 10 years!

As a parent, times are scary and it’s natural to be reluctant to send our children out to school.  The Academy of Excellence has made some huge changes to their business to make sure their students are safe. Firstly, offering a full virtual academic program for families who just aren’t there yet, to a very strict COVID-19 regiment of checking temps, social distancing, and accepting less students.

The Academy of Excellence is a huge space, has so many different classrooms! A large library and even a studio for the teachers to hold their virtual classes. Dee clearly knows what she’s doing and as a mom is incredibly empathetic to the situation. I had an awesome time getting to know her and visiting the school. Check out our interview!
