With the cold weather approaching and the outdoor activities limiting, here are some ways children can learn best indoors through play and their imaginations. Here are some options compiled for all ages and complexities.
Liberty Science Center
222 Jersey City Blvd, Jersey City
This is an amazing place to spend an interactive and educational experience with your children. They currently have the Storyland exhibit where kids can explore literacy, imagination, and dramatic play as the exhibition transforms seven beloved picture books into three-dimensional spaces and bilingual learning environments.
Rockness Music of Jersey City
16 Erie St, Jersey City
Rockness Music offers in person, virtual, and outdoor park lessons for aspiring musicians who are interested in taking the next step with music lessons for various instruments. They offer flexibility during this unusual time and cater to your schedule.
Hudson Play
189 Brunswick St, Jersey City
This is a great option for kids of all ages. There are so many activities to meet their entertainment needs. There’s an American Ninja Obstacle course for the older kids, plenty of educational and imaginative sections for toddlers, ping pong tables, massage chairs, and a health bar for the parents. This is a win/win situation for all.

Bowling is always an easy activity to do indoors. This long-standing bowling alley has 60 lanes plus a pro shop, a bar/lounge, and party rooms if needed.

For our future visual artists and creators, Bambino Chef is a great option. Classes are visible, but for those who are skeptical due to the virus, options are available to you as well. Virtual pods have been created for virtual and hybrid students who can still interact and participate in classes while learning how to mix ingredients and create virtually.
Kidz Village of Jersey City
2 Garfield Ave, Jersey City
You can take an interaction tour here and explore the grounds virtually and stimulate your children with their many learning stations. They have several themed playrooms that encourage learning and skill development. If visiting, it’s been posted on their site that their environment is sterilized and clean and friendly for indoor play.
My Gym
380 Newark Ave
My Gym Jersey City has created a space with limited classes and a sterilized environment providing an array of programs pertaining to different categories, such as: physical, enrichment, and a combination of both. This is a great option for those kids who are extra physical and need that extra physical release.
New City Kids
240 Fairmount Ave, Jersey City
One of my favorite programs and a Jersey City staple which should be supported are the New City Kids. Here, so many of our JC kids are benefiting for their various programs. Some of the programs they offer (for free) are English, math, and geography lessons with fine and performing arts, music, and more.
Fast Track Languages
78 Erie St, Jersey City
Fast Track offers language classes for children and adults for various languages, yoga and meditation, gymnastics, math and much more. The classes are small and attentive and the small class size gives children adequate time to learn and retain the information.
Sattva Yoga Jersey City

Yoga is a great physical and mental activity for children and adult of all ages. Here, you can find classes available for children. Their COVID classes allow up to 6 students, socially distanced with masks required.
