This week we have seen a lot of ups and downs in the entertainment industry. The culture suffered the lost of Chadwick Boseman while Lady Gaga won big at the VMA’s. Mariah Carey admitted to an affair with Derek Jeter and Kanye West was just crowned the highest paid male celebrity by Forbes.
While the sudden death of one of our cultural icons cause the world to mourn, another one of our icons was celebrated for his hard work. Chadwick Boseman passed away after a four year battle with colon cancer. Known for his breakout roles as King T’Challa in Marvel’s Black Panther, he was 43 when he passed. He would also land the roles of other iconic figures like James Brown, Jackie Robinson and Thurgood Marshall in “Marshall.” In Chadwicks hometown of South Carolina, a statue is set to be erected. His family released a statement, “It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman.
Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV.” They also wrote, “it was the honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther.” He died in his home, with his wife and family by his side”
Lady Gaga was this years biggest winner at the MTV VMA’s. She walked away with five awards, including artist of the year. K-Pop artist BTS were also big winners with 4 moonpersons. The Weeknd was blessed with the video of the year while Megan Thee Stallion took home best hip hop. Mariah Carey In her upcoming memoir, opens up about having an affair with MLB legend Derek Jeter during her marriage to prominent music exec Tommy Mottola. She even admitted in her memoir that both “The Roof” and “My All” on her classic ‘97 album Butterfly are about her fling with Jeter.
Finally Kanye West was just named the highest paid celebrity. Currently enjoying his position as one of hip-hop’s billionaires, Yeezy recently found himself topping Forbes’ tally of the highest- paid celebrities in 2020. He is the only musician to score a placement in the top ten. Kanye posted Twitter to celebrate the accomplishment. “This a good start,” he wrote sharing a screen- shot of the headline from Forbes website.

Shyrone got his start in the entertainment industry performing as an hip hop artist and producer. He discovered a talent and love for writing and almost immediately became an published author. He helped form a movie production company after starring in a hit YouTube web series titled “Da Citi”, which then was turned into a featured film. Also owns a publishing company that has published novels of all genres.
