OH HANUKAH! My favorite holiday ever.
We get 8 gifts, I love the songs, playing the dreidel and ofcourse lighting the menorah… but most importantly the food!
Latkes, Brisket, Chalah bread and
Sufganiyot.
What is a sufganiyah you ask?
“Sufganiyah is a round jelly doughnut eaten in Israel and around the world on the Jewish festival of Hanukkah. The doughnut is deep-fried in oil, filled with jam or custard, and then topped with powdered sugar”
AKA a delicious Jelly Donut.
In Israel during the holidays they are super easy to find, literally the whole country smells of jelly donuts. But here it’s a little bit more challenging. Here are some spots in NY and NJ to get your hands on a delicious sufganiyah right in time for Hannuakah!
