After 5 years, founder and CEO of South House David Hohensee announced that the team will be closing South House until a new management is selected to take over.
South House is a beautifully designed bar and restaurant in Downtown Jersey City that offers Southern Texas bites and incredible drinks. Their Rec Room was the home to pool, foosball, and shuffleboard games that every patron enjoyed throughout their nights out at South House, and they often hosted nights with live music. They’ve been a staple of Newark Ave since their inception, and we’re sad to see them go!
Hohensee shared his thoughts in an announcement posted on their Instagram page, reflecting on the past 5 years they’ve been serving Jersey City–
Reflecting back on my time at SOUTH HOUSE, I will forever be grateful to the COMMUNITY for supporting my endeavor to share my authentic Southern Texas roots with Jersey City. We’ve built an incredible list of memories for our minds to peruse forever! Words cannot express how much we will miss each and every one of you – WE LOVE Y’ALL!”
