Years ago when we lived by the Grove PATH train, we would get food from the Kraverie food truck that was parked right outside of the station, almost on a weekly basis. A few years ago they opened a restaurant right by City Hall.
Kraverie is a local favorite, if you ask all the hip 20 year olds where they eat, they will all tell you Kraverie is where it’s at.
There is a whole background story about one of owners that I will address in a later post one day. I want to focus this article on the food, cause the food is AMAZING and this eatery is a local favorite that makes a lot of foodies happy, including myself.
Let’s begin shall we?
So full-disclaimer, I saw the owner when I got there and he asked me what I wanted to eat, I told him to “surprise me.” I ended up getting 85% of the menu… now normally I would say no to all this food, but I was really hungry. Kraverie is my jam so I was going to write about the meal regardless and was excited about the fact that I wouldn’t have to cook dinner for my bae!
What I ate…
Bibimpap
Korean rice bowl served with veggies, bulgogi rib eye, and a fried egg on top.
First of all, add a fried egg on anything and it’s going to be good. This dish was on a whole other level. I ate most of it because I didn’t realize more food was coming.
Korean Wings and Kimchi Cheese Fries
WOAH. I still remember biting into the wings and then washing it down with a fry. It’s what dreams are made of. I swear if there were no calories in these things I would be eating it all day. SO GOOD.
Here is another closeup of the fries.
It is Sunday, and I am hoping some of you are hungry. Go get them fries! Stat.
Korean Nachos
THERE ARE NACHOS UNDERNEATH ALL THAT MEAT. At first I didn’t really understand what was in front of me, but then I saw a chip and realized these were nachos. Drops the mic. I am done.
Kimchidilla
This is what I normally get when I eat at Kraverie or get takeout. It’s the Korean take on a quesadilla and it really hits the spot. If you are trying to eat “light” this is what you should get, it’s indulgent but not too heavy. Minus that sour cream…
At this point I was a little too full to take good photos and I don’t even remember what this dish was to be honest. I DO THIS FOR YOU.
Last but not least…. A delicious sweet crepe.
Kraverie’s tagline is “Satisfying Cravings since 2009.” I can totally back that up. They seriously have anything that you could possibly be craving! Spicy, crunchy, salty, sweet, chewy. You name it.
Tell them Chicpea sent you.
