1. Angel Azul Bakery Cafe
The cafe con leche at Angel Azul Bakery in the heights is what dreams are made of. I don’t get this coffee as often as I would like, it’s more like a once-in-a-while treat then a morning ritual but it’s definitely one my favorites and it’s also only $1.25! It has the perfect coffee to milk ratio, and sweetness. If you’re feeling frisky, a yummy pastry is the perfect accompaniment to the coffee. yum!
460 Central Ave
Their cafe con leche = the best!
2. Modcup
Ever since I interviewed the owners of modcup Travas and Justin, I’ve become a huge coffee connoisseur. Modcup uses the highest quality beans, their coffee is so good you don’t need milk or sugar to mask the bitterness. It’s naturally sweet. If you’re feeling adventurous try their Nitro coffee, but beware you might be up for 5 days straight!

3. Short Grain
My old stomping ground, Short Grain is awesome, great coffee and lattes. They also have Matcha which is a nice change to coffee. I had to show them some love since this spot was my unofficial headquarters for almost a year!
183 Montgomery St
4. Gia Gelato & Cafe
Since I got my new office in the JC Village in June, Gia Gelato’s is part of my daily routine. The ice coffee is amazing, the key is the coffee ice cubes that doesn’t give you the watered down taste when it melts. I love walking in here every morning the wonderful ladies always know my order!! Addict much?
281 Newark Ave
Gia’s is easily the best place for iced coffee. Their ice cubes are made of coffee! Even when the ice melts, you keep the taste and boost of coffee in your cup.
5. The Grind Shop
The Grind recently celebrated their one year anniversary! I love this cute coffee shop located in Bergen Lafayette. The baristas are so friendly and knowledgeable! It’s a really great spot.
360 Communipaw Ave
6. Home
Every morning I start my day with a good old Nescafe instant coffee latte. It’s not fancy. But it’s what my mom used to bring into my room every morning since I was 16… so now it’s the first thing I do when I wake up, is make myself a cup. It’s like a warm hug to start the day.
Happy International Coffee Day!

I’ve been meaning to go into Gia’s for ages. I guess I should hop on that before it’s too late for iced coffee! I also love Seven Sheep for coffee and pastries. They carry Joe’s Coffee from the city so it’s a nice way to feel like you’re there, even when you’re here!
