Raise your hand if you’ve entered the work-from-home scene in the last few years! (I’m with you!)
If you’re reading this you probably know how it feels to be glued to your couch, kitchen table, bed – or wherever your “home office” of choice is- while we click and clack away on our laptops. Maybe you’ve even had one of those days where you suddenly look up to see that several hours have passed you by while you overload on screen time. It’s easy to get sucked into cyberland and remain inside all day when you don’t have a commute or an office to report to.
While working from home has many perks it also comes with some challenges of enforcing a tighter routine for yourself. It’s important to switch up your scenery every now and then- not only for your mental health but for an extra dose of inspiration too! When I found myself being stagnant and losing focus I knew it was time to take my work elsewhere.
If you’re not sure where to go, keep reading! I’ve scouted out some of the best spots to work remotely so you don’t have to.
200 Greene St
The vibes here are truly immaculate. This is my absolute favorite spot to cozy up and get some work done. There is ample seating here ranging from couches and chairs to tables and group-style desks. The art, plants, and lighting that surround you are sure to inspire, especially if you are writing or working on a creative project. Free wifi is available to the public!
295 Grove St
With two locations and delicious drinks, Lackawanna Coffee is another great spot to set up shop for a productive day. My favorite location is located on Grove Street because of its outdoor patio. For those days when the weather is just too good to stay inside, you can settle in their cozy backyard at a table of your choice. Plus, you’re likely to make a furry friend or two since pets are welcome!
350 Warren St
Nestled inside of the Cool Vines Powerhouse store lives the adorable Butler Cafe. With specialty seasonal drinks and a cozy ambiance, pull up a chair in the cafe or by the art wall to get working. Free wifi is available!
183 Montgomery St
Not only is the food at Short Grain healthy and satisfying but their space is one of the most perfect with cozy nooks to work at. They even have a printer for communal use! Each printing job is priced by page and free wifi is also available.
485 Marin Blvd
If the aesthetic alone isn’t enough to get you into Cafe Esme, the coffee sure will! Cafe Esme is an ideal spot for remote workers with a unique menu of specialty food and drink. With free wifi, indoor/outdoor seating, and a serene ambiance, you could spend hours here and feel right at home.
