I usually say that the weekends are going to be crazy, but I’ve just now realized that’s been an understatement this entire time. This weekend is literally packed full of cultural celebrations and festivals, and music and definitely plenty of food!

Puerto Rican Heritage Festival & Parade 2015

Jersey City’s Puerto Rican Heritage Festival & Pride 2015 began on Monday, August 10th with a Flag Raising at City Hall. This year’s event overall has a banquet, the continuation of the festival, and finally a parade that will truly expand on Jersey City’s diversity. It’s not an event you can miss, especially since each portion of the Puerto Rican Heritage Festival & Pride 2015 will be taking place in multiple parts of the city!

Much like the Puerto Rican Heritage Festival & Pride 2015, La Festa Italiana began earlier this week. Kicking off on Wednesday, August 12th, Jersey City denizens flocked to La Festa Italiana and still are. Much like me, there’s an overwhelming excitement of all that’s going on. La Festa Italiana will continue to have live performances, delicious food, and fun for everyone!

Indian Independence Day Celebration 2015 @ Hamilton Park

See? This city is so diverse! Playmusician & JC Families will be celebrating Indian Independence Day at Hamilton Park this Saturday. There will be kids’ performances, scrumptious food, and so much more. If you’ve already planned to go to the Puerto Rican Heritage Festival & Parade and La Festa Italiana then you might as well add Indian Independence Day to you list! Make a weekend out of it.
Crazy & The Brains~ Summer Festival @ The Funhouse!

The Brightside Tavern Short Film Fest

Two cinema screenings will take place at Brightside Tavern on Saturday, August 15th and Sunday, August 16th. The film festival will be celebrating the short film in many different categories on two screens with a fun award show at the end of the night. Take a load off and go see some short films!
