Ever since my interview with local punk band Crazy and the Brains, I’ve been dying to see them live in action. A few days ago, stylish peep and lead singer “Kid Kid Kidzzz” invited me to come to their “Cinco de Mayo” party at a new DIY venue called “The Funhouse”.

Yesterday I ran the Newport 10k and attended a bunch of Jersey City events (post coming soon…. like tonight) so by the time 11pm rolled around I was done for… I was literally in an uber on my way home and then at the last-minute told the driver to bring me to “The Funhouse”. I am so glad I did.

When I got there the Crazy and the Brains crew and Vincent “The Owl” were outside, and it was the perfect photo-op. I told them this was their new cover photo!!

Then I walked into this place, which is apparently the home of a local biker crew…. I felt like I was in a movie. I was not exactly dressed the part!! Where is my Harley jacket when I actually need it!!

I loved this place, it gave me a CBGB vibe (if you don’t know what that is, I suggest you google it) DJ Jake Casualty (who is on my list to interview) was DJ’ing and getting the crowd warmed up for the band.

So many stylish people were there!! Loved it.

Then it was showtime…. They totally killed it. Everyone was going crazy; jumping up and down, singing all the songs….  They are my favorite punk band! Their song “Ice Cream” is so good. It’s my new summer anthem!

I had a blast and so happy I came to support. Also apparently I missed some big fight?! Oh well.
