A few months ago, we were looking for venues to throw a big Halloween event. With no luck, we almost forgot the whole idea. One morning, I got an email from Dancing Tony (Rock-It Docket), who connected me with one of the partners at RDG Restaurant Group (Satis, Raval, Lucky 7’s), and they mentioned they had an amazing space and wanted to collaborate on a big Halloween event.
The amazing space was the Historical Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal in Liberty State Park. I met with the partner at Satis, and then we went for a drive to the Terminal. It wasn’t my first time there. I’ve actually visited a few times, but never with the idea of having a big Halloween party.
Partner in parties HayOner came up with the name Terminal of Terror. We were throwing a party.
A few days later, we came across this article in the JC Independent that says the Terminal is, in fact, haunted and that a ghost wearing all white, Emily, was seen in the terminal.
I called up Haytham and told him, “Let’s make a short film to tell the story of the Terminal.” We thought it would be a fun way to promote the event and show what an amazing space the Terminal is. The views, the history, the eeriness…
We enlisted Bladimir Liriano, who is a horror film aficionado and screenplay writer, to put the idea together and write the script. We had photographer/videographer Michael Perez to work his magic, Nabil Miftahi for the behind-the-scenes photos, and second unit director Jorge Salinas.
We made a call out for actors and casted a great crew to be part of the film.
Emily The Ghost played by Stepanny Contreras
Jules played by King TJay
Beatrix played by Vivienne Doll
Vic played by Hayoner
Elle played by me
The wonderful and patient people at Liberty State Park let us shoot there on a Tuesday night. We had two hours to finish everything. It was so much fun!
Hayoner did a kick ass job editing this awesome short film. He deserves an award! (not sure about that Oscar though) #insidejokes
Shout out to Another Man’s Treasure for dressing our ghost, Vivienne Doll for the spooky makeup, and the whole cast and crew for being part of this fun project.
