Halloweekend 2016 is now over and it was incredible! Right off the bat, we’d like to thank Premiere Vibes Entertainment and RDG Restaurant Group for working with ChicpeaJC and HayOner with this awesome event. We’d also like to thank all of the photographers and videographers involved, as well as every volunteer who worked throughout the night. Thank you to all the food trucks, DJs, sponsors, and anyone else involved! You’re all great and we can’t thank you enough for making Terminal of Terror happen!
If you couldn’t make it to the big Halloween event, here what you missed:
We started setting up at 9 AM. Bright, early, and cold, everything from the stage to the bars was built into place to prepare for the day ahead of us.
Spooky Terminal
The weather was in our favor by the time Spooky Terminal rolled around, which made the day so much better! So many families stopped by to have some fun, and it was great to see so many matching costumes. There was a DJ keeping the families entertained and on the dance floor all day! With a bouncy house, an enormous inflatable slide, a magician, face painting, cotton candy, popcorn, and cookie decorating, children LOVED this.
All costumes, especially the matching costumes with the families, were absolutely adorable. From scientists to movie characters to animals, you could see how much effort was put into these costumes and how much fun the kids were having.
We had food trucks stationed in the back, and we made sure to grab a little snack before the party got started! I couldn’t start my day with a delicious treat from Milk Sugar Love.
Thank you to JC Families for working with us to create such a wonderful family-friendly Halloween party!
Terminal of Terror
The big event started promptly at 9 PM, and we were surprised to see how many people were lined up at the door!
Before we get to the fun stuff, over 2500 people came to Terminal of Terror. We are very thankful that there were no incidents, no injuries, and everyone made it home safely. That being said, we learned many lessons and are aware of some of the issues that were present in the event, such as long lines at the bar and a small amount of bathrooms for guests. We received some feedback, mostly positive, but we are going to make sure that these issues are fixed for our next event. Now back to the fun stuff!
The costumes were amazing, everyone went all out! DJ Kevlove started the show while people started coming in, taking photos on our step-and-repeat and photo booth.
At around 9:30PM, Mason (the producer) and the actors went out into the crowd and started their immersive performance as the “lost souls” of the terminal. Some of the partygoers were definitely confused, but highly entertained by the performance. Mason and the actors did an amazing job, and it was definitely a highlight of the night.
We kept the bouncy slide for the adult event, and it was funny seeing people sliding down in their costumes! I need to give a really special shoutout to Partners in Sound for producing the event. They hooked us up with the stage, all the lighting, and sound. They transformed the terminal into something out of a movie.
The food trucks did really well, and people were super happy with the food choices. Milk Sugar Love had the best cookie, and the people behind Mexi-Flip are the nicest! People absolutely loved their tacos throughout the night. Pizza Vita was delicious (who doesn’t like pizza?), Burger Warrior was a hit, and Angry Crab was awesome for anyone who enjoys a good seafood dish! Thanks to all the food trucks for being there for the event!
To be honest, the rest of the night is a blur. I remember a lot of dancing and a lot of smiles. At around 12:30AM, we did the costume contest. Throughout the night, guests with awesome costumes were given finalist cards. Ultimately, Voltron won the prize for the night. The costume was incredible, I couldn’t even believe how much effort went into it!
DJs Bizz Nice, Avi, Kevlove, Stadium Status, and Rob Cast kept the crowd going all night! MC HayOner had the best costume dressed as Loc Dogg, and he kept the crowd super excited throughout the night. At around 1:45 AM, we started saying our goodbyes and everyone made their way home. Shout out to all the sponsors: Premiere Vibes, Allure Consultants, (The) Rock-it Docket, Mack-Cali Realty Corporation, Art House Productions, New Jersey Beer Company, The Clearport, JCFamilies, CarePoint Health, Newport Jersey City Apartments, and Lyft. Shout out the Lyft, who were onsite all day helping people with their membership and giving out swag!
