A few weeks ago, Lynn got an invitation to a bridal event hosted by Maggie Scarpelli (@Untamedblonde), a Hoboken Event Planner and soon-to-be bride! Of course, being the only engaged intern on the team, Lynn passed the offer to me so that I can see what it takes to plan a wedding.
The event date was January 29th from 11am-4pm at the beautiful W Hotel in Hoboken, NJ. When I arrived, I signed in and received a free goodie bag filled with vendor cards, magazines, and homemade cookies designed as a wedding cake. Might I add, the cookies were so cute that it was really difficult to want to eat them, but I did anyway and I do not regret it! At first, I was overwhelmed because I didn’t know where to start. Does any future bride who has no knowledge of how a wedding works know where to start? If so, please help a sister out. I literally walked into this unaware of how complicated it really is to plan a wedding. Thankfully, the bridal event had everything you needed to know about planning your dream wedding all in one location!
There was some champagne to sip on as you walked around the bridal event, and a raffle to win any of the services provided by the vendors at the event. There was a Photo Booth with cute props that you could rent for your wedding that my fiancé and I had fun taking photos at.
There were vendors ranging from floral decorations to fake paper flower decorations, dancing lessons, photographers, DJs, whatever you could possibly imagine at a wedding event, it was there. One of my favorite vendors was called “Nitro Girl” and what they do is they turn liquor into yummy ice cream with the use of liquid nitrogen. I mean, what a way to get people really excited to get turnt up by making it into ice cream. I tried the Kahlúa ice cream and wanted more, which is rare for me to say since I am not a liquor connoisseur, but I am an ice cream lover.
I also found Anatalie, the owner of “The Hair Room JC” doing what she does best and demoing a beautiful braid while the model was also getting her makeup done. Can you say pampered and living the life?! I even bumped into Jenna, another amazing Jersey City blogger @GrowinginJerseyCity talking to IronPlate Studio.
It definitely made me excited to plan and happy to know that there are events like this locally that make it easier to make my dream wedding come true, though give me another 1 to 2 years, Lynn!
