I’m still recovering from an amazing weekend celebrating my 34th birthday, starting with That 70s Party on Friday night and the Forever Young Festival. My partner Hayoner and I threw the first Forever Young Festival a year ago and it was so much fun, we decided the next day that we would try to do it every year.
This year, the wonderful people at The Lutze Biergarten let us hold the festival at their location, which is pretty amazing and has one of the best views in Jersey City. They were so awesome to work with, believed in our vision, and helped it come to fruition.
We start planning the Forever Young Festival a few months ago and booked all the acts, which are all mostly local to JC and all genres of music. We even had a few of the performers from last year return for the second year!
This year we had a few new vendors, new performers, and it was a great time. We made sure the event was family-friendly and had a station for kids, where they were able to do some face-painting, and we had water guns and toys for them.
The event went from 12PM to 10PM without a hitch. All of the performances were awesome, and I literally loved each performance. The Big Hair Girls even made their debut, which was really cool that they did it at the Festival. I went in the Dunk Tank for about an hour, was dunked around 10 times, and it was quite refreshing. I hung out with so many great people, met a lot of new faces. It was a positive event.
A special thanks to the team at The Lutze for being really awesome to work with. They were my drinking buddies for the day! Lutze Eats was launched on the same day, and we honestly couldn’t get enough of all this delicious food. Lutze Eats included Ben & Jerry’s, MozzArepas, Sisig City, Enfes, Glazed & Confused, Raw MKT, Kimchi Grill, Chavas, Kati Rolls by Canteen, and Maroon Sausage, as well as The Lutze‘s regular vendors like Jake’s Crab, Waffle It & Co, and Bacon Me Crazy.
Thank you to the HDSID for providing us with the tents, tables, and chairs for the vendors. Thank you to all the volunteers!
Special thanks to Scott aka Doctor Pot for being our stage manager and keeping everyone in check throughout the day. It wouldn’t have gone so smoothly without you!
