#LSCAfterDark: Dancing with Drones Recap

August 18th marked the first of many After Dark events hosted by Liberty Science Center and it was unbelievable. We had over 1,500 people show up! That’s crazy!

People were waiting outside at 5 PM, an entire hour before the party even started. The moment it hit 6 PM, people rushed in, ready to drink, dance, and explore LSC for the first time in years. Everybody grabbed some glow sticks and ran off for the night!

Host HayOner and brand ambassador Chicpea were on the dance floor from the very beginning, hyping up the crowd coming in while DJ Stadium Status played hits to keep up the energy. R2-D2 hit the dance floor and showed off its best dance moves!

When people weren’t dancing, they were going through the exhibitions offered at LSC. Everyone was suddenly brought back to their childhoods and participated in activities all night. Guests tested infected blood samples in the Infection Connection exhibit, admired the roaches in the Eat Or Be Eaten exhibit, and tried to find their way out of the Infinity Climber.

Everyone seemed to love the food and drinks offered throughout the night, especially the Electric Lemonade. It was the perfect blend of science and partying in one drink!

The Prince laser show was a hit with everyone! I had chills the whole time. People sang, danced, cried, laughed, and cheered the whole way through. It was an experience like no other. Sorry if you missed it, but there are plenty of other amazing laser shows to catch at LSC!

The photo booth we had was perfect, thanks to Premiere Vibes Entertainment! As people shared photos and tweets with #LSCAfterDark, the updates popped up on the Wonderboard above the dance floor for everyone to see. It is Sunday morning and I am still recovering from Thursday night’s event. When the wonderful people at Liberty Science Center contacted me about working with them on their new After Dark series, I had no clue what to expect. Long story short, I ended up not only helping with the promotion of the event, but also becoming the official After Dark ambassador! I was pumped. I enlisted my party partner HayOner to emcee the event, and DJ Stadium Status. Since I knew with these guys on the ticket, it would be a fun night…. and it was!

At around 5:45 pm, I walked down to the lobby area and saw that there was a line out the door. Normally when we throw events, people usually come fashionably late, so it was surprising to see everyone so excited and eager to get in!!

But first, a photo op with R2D2, who looked so dapper in his tux. He was definitely the star of the night!

The guests poured into the Science Center and everyone did their own thing! People were having a blast in all the exhibits, taking pictures in the Premiere Vibes photo booth, checked out the Prince laser show, enjoying the fun drinks and bites, and getting their groove on.

Highlight of the night was dancing with CEO of Liberty Science Center Paul Hoffman and R2-D2. What a life!!

The drone cage was popping!! So much fun to see them fly around!

At certain points, I would walk through the whole Science Center to see what people were doing and of course capture it on my social media. All I saw were happy people being kids again. It truly was a beautiful thing, seeing so much joy in peoples faces. I live for this.

At around 8pm, everyone flooded the dance floor and HayOner got everyone so hyped, it was amazing! Hundreds of people dancing in the middle of the Science Center. Can’t even describe the energy in the room. It was so fun that the LSC team decided to extend the event an extra hour!!
