September 15th marked the second After Dark event hosted by Liberty Science Center and it was unbelievable. We had a great turn out with lots of people making it a night to remember. This time, the theme was “Dancing with Volcanoes.” The LSC team built a 14 ft. tall volcano right in front of a holographic dance floor that erupted with smoke and confetti every half-hour. It was the largest volcano LSC has ever had in the building.
The special guest of the night was LSC’s resident Dinosaur, who posed with guests and danced the night away! He even did the “Milly Rock” for us, talk about a cool dino!
I was so happy to be back as the After Dark ambassador, along with teammate and the most energetic host Hayoner. For this event, DJ Kevlove hyped up the crowd the whole night. It was awesome.
When people weren’t dancing, they were going through the exhibitions offered at LSC. Everyone was suddenly brought back to their childhoods and participated in activities all night. Guests tested infected blood samples in the Infection Connection exhibit, admired the roaches in the Eat Or Be Eaten exhibit, and tried to find their way out of the Infinity Climber.
Everyone seemed to love the food and drinks offered throughout the night, especially the Volcanic themed drinks. It was the perfect blend of science and partying in one drink!
The David Bowie laser show was a hit with everyone! I had chills the whole time. People sang, danced, cried, laughed, and cheered the whole way through. It was an experience like no other. Sorry if you missed it, but there are plenty of other amazing laser shows to catch at LSC!
The photo booth we had was perfect, thanks to Premiere Vibes Entertainment! As people shared photos and tweets with #LSCAfterDark, the updates popped up on the Wonderboard above the dance floor for everyone to see. If you took any photos or videos throughout the night, be sure to post them online with the hashtag #LSCAfterDark!
Two lucky winners who posted their favorite photos won two tickets to the next LSC After Dark and a free t-shirt! Sweet.
Highlight of the night was seeing CEO Paul Hoffman dance it up with the Dino! What a great night.
Of course, the LSC After Dark events don’t end here! The next one is on October 20th. Discounted advance tickets are on sale here: http://lscafterdark1020.eventbrite.com/?aff=chicpeajclink
