I’ve been a member at the Liberty Science Center ever since I had mini-chicpea and always love going there. I remember thinking how fun it would be to experience the Science Center without worrying about my toddler or kicking a stranger’s kid in the face while going through the Touch Tunnel…

Last September, LSC had it’s first evening event, “Lunar Mania,” which drew thousands of people. There was a bar, a Pink Floyd laser show, and other fun activities. It was SO much fun. At the end of the night, I ran into the LSC marketing people and told them they needed to do a party for adults at the Science Center! They said they were thinking about it… of course I mentioned I would love to be involved in any way I could (I am obnoxious like that), but then dropped the subject.

Fast forward to a month ago. I got a call from Mary Meluso, Media Relations Manager at the Science Center to meet with her, Paul Marsh the Marketing boss man, and Jeremy the digital manager to discuss a new After Dark series. YES. Where do I sign up?

Long story short, you are looking at the new LSC After Dark Ambassador.

Coolest thing ever, right? Well, what does it mean?

It means that we are bringing the “turn-up” and the fun vibes to the Science Center.

Every third Thursday of the month, there will be an After Dark party at the Science Center;

• 21+
• NO KIDS
• DJ and music
• A different theme
• Laser Show
• Drinks & eats
• Many surprises (I can’t give everything away yet)

Geek out, drink, hang with friends, meet R2D2, and be a big kid again. I am so excited!

The other day, a group of us went to LSC to take photos and video. I kid you not, we all had so much fun, even in the short amount of time we spent there. It was actually kind of hard to get everyone from exhibit to exhibit because we all just wanted to play. Humans have an innate need to play! We are drawn to it…. as adults, we don’t get enough opportunities to just play. Now we do, thanks to LSC!

So basically, you will get to experience the Science Center in all its glory, without little kids running around, while DJ Stadium Status spins your favorite tunes, and Hayoner our MC for the night gets you hyped… and DRINKS! 

The first event, coming August 18 from 6:00 to 10:00 pm, is “Dancing with Drones.” Real drones will be flying inside the Science Center. HOW COOL?!
