Every year since 1902, Jersey City has celebrated La Festa Italiana, a street festival honoring Our Lady of the Assumption and St. Rocco through the longstanding Holy Rosary Church. With restrictions loosening for public gatherings, the Holy Rosary Church is finally able to bring back La Festa Italiana to Sixth Street this year!
From August 11 to August 15, enjoy food from local vendors, live performances from great musical artists, and games and activities for the whole family in Downtown Jersey City.
Live entertainment this year includes performances by The Counterfeiters, Faith in Chaos, The Toga Party Band, The Cameos, and Total Soul. You can find the performance schedule on the La Festa Italiana website. There’ll also be plenty of carnival games for everyone to enjoy, including previous years’ classics like water races and Down A Clown.
In past festivals, we’ve seen White Star bring their boozy pops, stands with fresh hot zeppoles and delicious rice balls, and vendors selling Italian ices, fresh seafood, and more. This year is sure to have some amazing food and drinks with a wide variety of bites to choose from – don’t miss out!
It’s all happening August 11 to 15 – mark your calendars! Keep up with all updates – especially as participating food vendors are being announced – on La Festa Italiana’s Instagram, Facebook, and website.
