This weekend I was away visiting family and I missed out on some really fun stuff happening in Jersey City. In particular the “Dead Since” party. I met Alaska, founder of the local JC streetwear brand just a few months after I started chicpeajc and I’ve been following his journey every since. He’s a really cool dude, doing cool shit and I knew this would be a fun party. I asked friend and photog Andy-Mac to shoot the party on my behalf…. now since I wasn’t going to be there (this is a first) I asked Andy to send me his thoughts the next day and be my first unofficial blogger.
Andy was still messed up from the night before so he sent me a note via a voice memo. I decided to transcribe it (almost verbatim) to give you all the full effect of how dope this party was.

Last night was very wavy. Mad people came, we had drinks…. It got really LIT. The music was amazing, DJ 201, that guy is amazing on the tables. Great music choice
Alaska had a bunch of different crowds there. He was telling me that he had people from Connecticut and New York. Although he’s from Jersey his brand seems to be very wide range. The turn out was amazing. Everyone seemed to get along well. the music was perfect and the girls were dancing all night.
They also had banner up that people tagged up with markers he gave out.
Alaska was on his king shit last night… he was up by the DJ booth, stopped the music and yelled out “yo everybody I appreciate you for coming, do some shit you will regret tomorrow. It’s all about the culture” It was wavy/ This is a voice message because I am dead right now. No pun intended.
It was dope.
