I think you all know by now that I love shopping, and one of my favorite things to in the whole world is checking out local markets. It’s a good time for the whole family! A great way to spend the day. This past Sunday we attended the 6th Borough Market, this was my second time checking this market out, and wow! So many cool vendors, so many good eats…. These things just keep getting better and better!
Here is a rundown of some of the vendors we checked out!
Bragda
Bragda makes these amazing urban cycling caps. They are made by Cecilia and Reuben in Newark and embroidered by Haberdash team in Richmond, VA. It’s “100% Made in US! Bragda believes in Fair trade, honesty and finest quality and that cyclists do not need to wear lycra and snug “uniforms” . Their cycling caps are limited edition and each peace is hand crafted.
Do you Tea?
Hell yes. Kelley Scruby is the Tea master! What a doll, I wonder if she is so cute from drinking all that Tea? She hooked me up with some Rooibos tea and Yerba Mate. I tried the Yerba Mate yesterday and I was literally FLYING! Miley, I think instead of Molly you should be doing Tea #twerkit. Anyway, you can’t go wrong with organic tea made with all natural ingredients. She has some great combos too!
Outer Limit Hot Sauce
Danngggg that’s some hot stuff! I checked these guys out and sampled their MILD hot sauce and my mouth was on FIRE… but that shit taste good. Their hot sauce makes my veggie burgers go from yumm to HOT DIGGITY DAMN! haha… and they use all natural ingredients. Sorry Tabasco, I am officially breaking up with you.
Who’s Gluten Free?
I am not, but I wish I was! This shit is THA BOMB. Sayonara flour! They have cookies (which my kid polished off for lunch), trail mixes, granola and bread. Just so you guys know, they had a sample plate and I pretty much finished it…. oops. Really good stuff, whether you are gluten free or not!
Soap for Sinners
This soap is so good it definitely washes your sins away… and then you smell good. I love them because a) they are handmade in Jersey City, b) It is 100% plant based and c) they are eco friendly! I have been using the Pepermint Eucalyptus one and it is beyond invigorating. My issue is I am used to buying the cheap store brand soaps and now I am totally hooked on Soap to Sinners, definitely looking forward to trying other soaps.
Vera Vixeness
Vera is a Vintage Vixen alright! She was there with all her dope accessories on her birthday nonetheless! girl is dedicated! and has amazing stuff. There is one necklace I have my eye on, this pink pearl necklace with a blinged out skull… Vera hook me up yo!! Check out her shop on Etsy where she sells awesome vintage finds! https://www.etsy.com/people/veravixeness
Raven Gallery & Boutique
My girl Vera introduced me to this fab gallery and boutique. They have amazing one of a kind jewelry and artwork! I smell a shopping spree coming soon!
1030 Wine Merchants
Wino’s your day has come! now you get cute accessories to go along with your drinking habits! jokes aside…. the peeps at 1030 Wine make very cute crafts such as coasters, garden tags, cork stoppers and more! Really neat stuff. I especially like the cork and foil holder, I always lose the corks and then resort to putting aluminum foil on my bottles of wine!
EATS
After all that shopping we got hungry… First stop was the awesome Jersey City Veggie Burgers! I am a huge fan of veggie burgers myself, I make a mean one too but these guys are LEGIT. Sorry meat, I don’t really miss you that much.
Yeah Dawg!! Vegan hot dogs, so f-ing good. When I was a kid I used to live off of hot dogs and since I gave up meat haven’t been able to indulge in the mystery meat. I was so excited to see this pop up vegan Hot Dog cart in Jersey City! It was delicious. Web
After all the vegan yumminess we got a box of goodies from Cholita’s dessert bar. That stuff was RIDIC!! I can’t even describe to you how good it was and I wish I wrote down what I ate… but I inhaled it. My name is Lynn and I am a dessert addict.
Emma the angel from Milk Sugar Love was also there spreading the Ice Cream goodness to the people of Jersey City. She is one of the most hardworking business owners! Emma was at the market all day and then showed up to a potluck that was organized by the wonderful peeps of E.Tittlemouse! We all screamed for joy when she showed up !
