Last night was the second annual Freedom Fireworks at Liberty State Park. I attended the first one last year with the family and had a blast! This year, I was away on a much needed holiday outside of Jersey City, I was so sad to miss all the fun but thankful to have gotten a break. I enlisted my new partner in crime Crystal Davis to cover all the fun. She was sending me pictures as things were happening so I felt like I was there! Thanks Crystal.

Freedom Fireworks

Yesterday, for those who stayed home in Jersey City, excitement came in high volumes. Plenty of families and friends flocked to celebrate the fourth of July at Jersey City’s Second Annual Jersey City Freedom and Fireworks Festival at Liberty State Park. The event was presented by Mayor Steven Fulop, The City of Jersey City, the Jersey City Municipal Council; Fireworks were presented by Grucci and the Special Olympics New Jersey.

The festival was chock-full of fun festivities for adults and children alike. Food and savory scents piled in by the truck-load as food-trucks and vendors had celebrators lined up and piqued with curiosity.

And let’s not forget the tons of stylish peeps, pets, and kids that we’re gathered all in one place!

Our friends at Milk Sugar Love, O’Lala Empanadas, Your Top Concession, and so many more showered the guests with flavorful appetizers, meals, and snacks.

Live music could be heard both in the foreground and background of the park, whether you were enjoying a bathe in the sun or barbequing with family. The Second Annual Jersey City Freedom and Fireworks Festival were hosted by Michael Billy. On stage downtime, DJ George Soul got audience in a groovy mood. The Live musical performances featured the talents of headliner: Miri Ben-Ari, Trusol, Judah Tribe, Manouche Bag, People in Disguise, Gordon James, The Jersey Rollers, and Sons of Seymour!

During the day, partakers took to enjoyment by jumping in a bouncy house, sitting on the Ferris wheel, or gazing at the breathtaking view of Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.

And of course, the evening was concluded by a beautiful display of the Macy’s Fourth of July fireworks cascading the sky from the East end of Liberty State Park and the Grucci Fourth of July fireworks surging in the sky to the West! But nothing was more beautiful than seeing families get together for a full day of merriment and relaxation.
