Meet Krishna Choksi, who started her entrepreneurial journey at the age of 76 after losing her husband and partner of 55 years to COVID-19 last year.
Krishna Choksi’s story is one of transforming grief into purpose. As difficult as it is to lose a loving and dedicated partner of 55 years, Krishna Choksi decided to do what few at her age (76) could think of accomplishing – start an entrepreneurial venture for a greener, cleaner world. Proceeds from her venture would go to support the ongoing fight against the deadly COVID-19 pandemic in India.
Last year on December 23rd, Choksi lost her loving and doting husband of 55 years, Madhukar Choksi, to COVID. To keep her company and support her journey of healing from a loss as difficult as this, her son brought her along to New Jersey. Her world as she knew it had completely changed. She had planned to stay in the US only for a few months, but then the COVID crisis in India escalated quickly.
To celebrate the life of her late husband, Choksi decided to share the green blessings with the world.
On April 26th, on her husband Madhukar’s birthday, she launched Madhuban, a dedication to his unwavering spirit and every smiling presence. Gardening had been her passion and through Madhuban, and she turned her passion into purpose. All plants at Madhuban come with a secret whisper, an intention to uplift the environment around them.
Choksi is donating all profits from Madhuban to support the covid crisis in India. Her first batch of plants were sold out in less than 24hrs. Her next set of plants are going to be released soon and she has a target of contributing at least $5000 to India through her initiative.
This is her story of a comeback after continuing to fight a loss so deeply personal-from grief to grit to grace !
“If I can do it at 76, so can you,” says Krishna M Choksi.
On this Mother’s Day, support this mother’s small business. She has beautifully nurtured blooms that make a perfect gift.

Wonderful. She has always been a gritty woman and is an example of what a woman can do when she determines to do something.
