Yesterday, NJ.com reported that Jersey City is considered the most diversity city in the United States based on WalletHub’s diversity rankings!
Every year, WalletHub puts together a list of the most ethnically diverse cities in the country. After being 2nd last year, Jersey City once again tops the list for 2020 with an Ethnic Diversity score of 72.56. Jersey City prides itself on its cultural diversity, from parades and festivals celebrating cultures to the restaurants and food trucks that serve authentic food from around the world. It’s a true melting pot of many cultures.
Jersey City also ranked 1st in Linguistic Diversity, further proving the ethnic diversity in the area and the cultures represented in WalletHub’s study. Many individuals have a non-English native language and 75 languages are spoken in Jersey City schools. In addition to the representation of different cultures, the City has often vocalized their stance on immigration and has gone as far as becoming a sanctuary city for immigrants.
We know that Immigration policies impact #JerseyCity a great deal. Not only have we been vocal on this issue but we built an amazing immigrant affairs office to help new residents. We believe the different communities in #JC is an asset and makes the city a better place to live

When it comes to diversity, Jersey City is a clear winner. We’re happy to be back in 1st place this year!
