Kevin Scully – @stadiumstatus

Personal bio: Kevin Scully aka Stadium Status, DJ/Entrepreneur. Stadium built up recognition as a member of the event series Pizza Zoo performing for sold out crowds at venues such as Terminal 5, Hammerstein Ball, Webster Hall, and La Marina. He was the music programmer at Talde in Jersey City for the last four years, where he built a hub for nightlife culture that featured local talent and events featuring DJs from influential record labels like Mad Decent and Fool’s Gold.

What do you currently do for a living?

I’m a DJ and event producer.

What is your dream job?

I’m working towards owning a nightlife venue and producing music full time.

What is your favorite place to hang out or eat in Jersey City?

Taqueria and Miss Wongs (RIP)

What are 3 random facts about yourself?

I was a tour manager for The Cover Girls.

I stage dived with Swae Lee at a Diplo concert and nobody caught me.

They caught Swae though lmao. My favorite ice cream is mint chocolate chip (yea, I said it)

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done or wanted to do?

I’ve always wanted to try all the hot sauces from that show Hot Ones.

What do you love most about Jersey City?

The people! The diversity and the sense of community. It’s a great place to call home.

Holli Byrd – @hollithebyrd

Personal bio: Much like Shrek, Holli Byrd is complex and frequently has fairy tale creatures squatting in her swamp.

What do you currently do for a living?

I teach math and physics, and I walk dogs. I am getting my Master’s degree in Mathematics at NYU.

What is your dream job?

What do you call it when someone pays you to bike around, look at the clouds, pet dogs, and eat candy all day? I want that job. In all honesty, I’m really happy playing around with numbers and puzzles. I didn’t think “mathematician” would ever be my dream job, but now it is. I hear mathematicians spend a lot of time biking and looking at clouds anyway.

What is your favorite place to hang out or eat in Jersey City?

Breakfast at Nick’s Restaurant on Communipaw is heavenly. Best hidden gem in JC. To hang out, no place beats Liberty State Park. Did you know you can see a sunset for free every single day there??

How does it feel to be nominated as a JC babe?

I am truly touched to finally be appreciated for my physical appearance. I knew that years of eating gas station food and not brushing my hair and teeth would earn me praise on social media someday.

What are 3 random facts about yourself?

I can juggle. I collect rocks and shells. Gravity is my favorite force.

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done or wanted to do?

I was in LA at a rooftop bar, where I ran into [redacted]. I went back to his hotel room with a mortician and a sailor. We all [redacted] a bunch of [redacted]. Then the mortician and I drove the camper van fully [redacted] on [redacted] to Santa Monica Pier. As the sun came up, I [redacted] the mortician in the van. By noon, I had driven to Las Vegas, where I stayed with a [redacted] I met off the strip. There was a huge snowstorm back in Jersey that night, so I stayed in Vegas with the [redacted] for a few more days than expected. He had his best friend’s shot gun wedding to go to, so I went to a drive in chapel and witnessed a [redacted] marry a [redacted]. We both ended up catching the [redacted] flu, but it was so worth it.

What do you love most about Jersey City?

I love the small city vibe in Jersey City. I love the neighbors, friends, and small businesses in my community. Shout out to the Grind, Harry’s Daughter, and Balance Salon especially! I can bike around all of JC in a few hours, and get the most amazing views of NYC and the Hudson River, but I get to go home to a cozy dead end street with the friendliest stray cats. I can’t imagine a better place to be a babe.

Luis Matamoros – @lu_dingo

Personal bio: Luis Matamoros, 25 years old born in Honduras; however, he grew up in Jersey City since the age of 5. Luis is attending school for Physical Therapy and recently graduated as a EMT. He considers himself a pretty easy-going guy, however very spontaneous and enjoys to try new things along with traveling. He is a proud dog owner and has not considered having children any time soon.

What do you currently do for a living?

Currently, I am a US Olympic Certified Trainer for 24 Hour Fitness locates in Whippany, NJ .

What is your dream job?

My dream job would be to be a Calvin Klein Underwear model. I walk around my house in the underwear all the time, why not get paid for it lol

What is your favorite place to hang out or eat in Jersey City?

My favorite place to hang out in Jersey City would have to be my house lol , but downtown is a pretty chill area. A place I like to go eat is Beechwood Cafe , their White Chocolate Matcha 👌🏽.

How does it feel to be nominated as a JC babe?

Being nominated as a JC Babe is actually pretty cool, I actually just recently found out about Chicpeajc. It was very unexpected.

What are 3 random facts about yourself?

Three random facts: I have gone surfing but I don’t know how to swim or even float, I have 15 tattoos, & I broke my feet falling off the Hollywood sign.

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done or wanted to do?

Craziest thing I’ve ever wanted to do was be part of a underground bare knuckle boxing tournament

What do you love most about Jersey City?

The thing I love most about Jersey City would be the memories I’ve made here. It’s home, through the good and the bad, everywhere from Greenville to The Heights, I chuckle and reminisce at all the crazy memories I’ve made throughout my crazy childhood.

Claire Viehman – @makeupbyclairev

Claire has lived in Hoboken going on four years. Originally from Pennsylvania, she left her job in Advertising to follow her dreams and pursue a career as a makeup artist. When she isn’t glamming up her clients, Claire likes to hang out with her friends, listen to music, and try out new restaurants.

What do you currently do for a living?

I am a freelance makeup artist. I do makeup for events, weddings, private clients, and photoshoots.

What is your dream job?

I’m already doing it! But I would love to do red carpet and celebrity makeup full time.

What is your favorite place to hang out or eat in Jersey City?

There are so many amazing places in Jersey City! My favorites to hang out are South House and the Ashford rooftop, and to eat Kitchen Step and Taqueria.

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done or wanted to do?

I went to China for a month for an internship right after I graduated college. It was one of the best and most eye opening experiences of my life!

What do you love most about Jersey City?

The amazing restaurants and artsy vibe. I also love how supportive everyone is towards small businesses.
