It’s another one in the books for the BET Hip Hop Awards. With us still being in the middle of a pandemic, the awards show this year was all virtual and brought performances from some of hip hop dopest artists to the stage. Lil Baby and 42 Dugg opened things up with “We Paid” and The City Girls performed “Kitty Talk” and “Jobs.” Big Sean, Jhené Aiko, and Ty Dolla $ign came together for “Body Language” while Burna Boy and Chris Martin had a powerful performance of “Monsters You Made.” First time BET performer Tobe Nwigwe advised people to “Try Jesus, Not Me,” while Mulatto and Gucci Mane collided for a down south medley.
The show was closed with a performance from Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz as they performed their song “Money Maker,” Megan Thee Stallion was a big winner as she took home four awards. She received two for her “Savage (Remix)” with Beyoncé as well as Hustler of the Year and Hip Hop Artist of the Year. Hip Hop Album of the Year was snagged by Roddy Ricch for Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial, Best Duo Or Group went to Young Thug and Chris Brown and Lil Baby won Impact
