As the holiday season approaches, it’s important to show compassion for others and give back to people in our communities. Several organizations in Hudson County looking for donations or volunteers for the fall/winter seasons. Help out for the holidays and spread the love!
About: AngelaCARES is an organization that serves as a support system for senior citizens and senior caregivers as well as a mentoring program for youth. Donations go toward resources and necessities for senior citizens, social activities for seniors and youth, and workshops for youth.
About: WomenRising helps women and families seek safety from domestic violence and work toward self-sufficiency through a variety of resources. Donations go toward job trainings, shelter and goods for women and families, and other helpful social services.
Family Promise of Hudson County
About: Family Promise offers a space for homeless families, care services, and resources to help families get back on their feet. Donations would go toward these services and providing shelter for families in Hudson County.
Hudson Pride Center
About: Hudson Pride Center provides social services, health screenings, and events in a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community. Donations go toward providing those services to individuals, youth, and families as well as toward the development of new programs.
York Street Project
About: York Street Project offers shelter, food, and education for women, children, and families in need. Donations go toward providing necessities and services for families. They are also accepting goods for donation.
Hudson County CASA
About: Hudson County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) advocates for the interest of abused and neglected children through trained volunteers. Donations go toward basic needs for children, including school supplies and books.
Kismet of Kings
About: Kismet Of Kings provides social and academic programs to young men from ages 11 to 18. Their programs include mentorship for college readiness and entrepreneurship. Donations go toward field trips, events, academic rewards, and food for youth.
New City Kids
About: New City Kids offers educational and creative after school programs for youth. Donations go toward providing after school services for low-income youth to encourage learning and creativity.
About: Welcome Home supports refugees and asylum-seekers with social services and material support. They have several donation funds available to support, including a fund to provide holiday meals for families.
Liberty Humane Society
About: Liberty Humane is a non-profit animal shelter that works to rehome cats and dogs in Hudson County. You can donate items from their wishlist or donate directly to the Liberty Humane Society center for animal services.
Art House Productions
About: Art House Productions provides performing and visual arts programs in the city. Donations go toward these community programs and supporting local arts events.
