Over the course of a week, Hurricane Harvey has caused hundreds of thousands of people in Texas and Louisiana to be left with no electricity, unsafe drinking water, and destroyed homes. While thousands of victims are being rescued, many have been displaced and are desperately in need of supplies.
Jersey City has a strong community that is always willing to help, and there are several businesses opening their doors to donations and efforts are being made to collect items to be sent over to Houston.
The Hair Room JC (213 Montgomery St) is working to get the JC community involved in helping those in need. Hazel Baby (218 Montgomery St + 17 McWilliams Pl) and Hound About Town (17 McWilliams Pl) are taking donations for The Hair Room JC, as well. Items needed includes: toiletries, baby wipes, non-perishable food, feminine products, diapers, formula, socks, blankets, towels, and dog food. Between today and tomorrow, feel free to drop off any items or cash donations to any of the locations!
