- Of the current deaths, 43% are female and 57% are male. 51.1% are white, non-Hispanic. 22.5% are black, non-Hispanic. 15.5% are Hispanic, 5.5% are Asian, and 5.4% identified as Other.
- As of last night: there are currently 8,224 hospitalizations connected to COVID-19. 2,014 require critical/intensive care.
- Hudson County currently has 9,165 cases.
- As of last night, Jersey City has 2,972 cases.
- New York is sending 100 ventilators to New Jersey to help with the state’s efforts.
- Richard Besser and Secretary Jeh Johnson have been appointed to the multi-state council.
- The NJ Housing and Mortgage Financing Authority are suspending all rent increases of 36,000 eligible properties within their portfolio.
- The science director for Teaneck schools used his 3D printer to create face shields.

- New Jersey has increased hospital capacity by 60%.
- The New Jersey Mental Health hotline is now set up at 866-202-HELP (4357). Specialists are available from 8AM to 8PM, 7 days a week.
- New Jersey Public Schools will remain closed until May 15.
- Through the JC Relief efforts, Jimmy Johns and Courtyard Marriott donated meals and drinks to CSPNJ – Hudson County.
National + International
- The United States currently has over 640,000 positive cases. Over 53,000 have recovered.
- New York governor Cuomo has extended the stay-at-home order to May 15 while the rate of the spread has decreased.
- The daily death toll in New York has seen another dip under 700 in the past nine days.
- The FDA has issued an emergency use authorization for a new antibody test.
- Colin Kaepernick has contributed $100,000 for COVID-19 relief in black and brown communities affected.
- Singapore reported their largest single-day increase.
- In New York, passengers must wear a mask on public transportation, private transportation carriers and for-hire vehicles. All operators must a wear a mask, as well.
- The UK has extended their lockdown for another three weeks, and Mexico has extended their lockdown to May 30.
- The PGA Tour is expected to return on June 8 without live spectators.
- Switzerland is easing their restrictions as their numbers go down.
- Facebook has cancelled large (50 people or more) events through June 2021.
