Empowerment for future generations, sustainability, and giving-back to the community are some core values that NRG Company and Goldman Sachs share. As pioneers in the drive towards a “cleaner energy” future, they have partnered with Hudson County Community College to provide students an opportunity to learn more about how corporate partners can impact society by using clean energy options.
Throughout the third annual Goldman Sachs Local College Collaborative case study challenge, ten students from Hudson County Community College were assigned to work on a real business case challenge about the corporate partner NRG. The basis of the case is finding options to increase brand awareness among how to increasing brand awareness to NRG energy options and so consumers would learn about sustainable energy choices in New Jersey.
On Friday, March 15th, Hudson County Community College students, along with their volunteer Goldman Sachs coaches, were hosted by NRG in their headquarters in Princeton, NJ to do a site visit tour of NRG’S LEED Platinum certified building. The students gathered valuable advice on career pathways in sustainable energy from a several professional presentations from the NRG leadership team. The Hudson team then presented some questions to the NRG leadership to gain insight about the company for their case study challenge.
On May 3rd, Students will present to an audience of Goldman Sachs and NRG executives their final suggestions, based on their findings of the case study. The HCCC team is excited and proud to represent the college and provide the corporate partners ideas on how to improve sustainable energy for the future.
