Isaiah Mendoza and Nicole Cano recently posted about coming across Jason Wilkins, who some of you may have seen on 1&9, and decided to help get Jason back on his feet. But they can’t do it alone. Help Jason Stand Up is a GoFundMe campaign started to help fund surgeries for Jason’s back and ultimately help Jason find a sustainable place to live.

It is believed that Jason has Ankylosing Spondylitis, which causes spine deformities likely through genetics. The necessary surgeries for his back are expected to cost at least $300K.
Along with accepting donations to directly benefit Jason, Isaiah and Nicole have been accepting clothing donations and have reached out for any local resources regarding housing. Any amount of help is appreciated for Jason’s journey to stability and health.

Since meeting Isaiah, Jason has been able to get a photo ID and currently has a phone with social media accounts so he can update everybody from a first-person perspective. You can follow Jason’s journey on Instagram!
It’s all about love and support when it comes to the Help Jason Stand Up mission. They are hoping to reach $400K in order to support the medical procedures as well as a sustainable living situation for Jason.
Donate if you can, spread the word, and keep yourself updated with any information through Isaiah and Nicole’s Instagram pages.

Damn. My heart breaks for him. I know all to well the pain he is in. I have a genetic disease of my spine also. It causes a “hunchback” appearance also. Mine is called Scheurman’s disease. It’s possible that is what he has also. In the last 21 years the best doctors I have found for this type of surgery are located at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. It does involve fusing most of the spine but, it will render him pain free after recovery. Or close to it anyway. God bless you guys for helping him. You have no idea the agony that poor man is in. It’s so awful it makes you feel like you’re going to go crazy. Literally.
Sincerely-Stephanie
